You all realize that any sex scene in the game would be told from Varric's perspective right?

I installed a mod that was supposed to make them more, realistic, would be the word I suppose. It worked, hehe. Interesting screen shots, but in a way, I thought they were more tasteful than the strange underwear.

Well, there won't be a toolset for Dragon Age 2, and frankly, I think the "better sex scenes" could have been done more tastefully...

Aren't there like 3 options for them? Mild, hot,  and zesty I think. Did you really find all of them tasteless? I use zesty and haven't seen anything I would consider in poor tastes.

I haven't seen all of them, and really haven't tried the mod out much, but from what I've heard...It's pretty bad.

It's nothing regular people don't do during sex and certainly nothing kinky or freaky. It's sex.

It is weird to declare your never going to have sex in your enitre life for no other reason than because I am too lazy?

Aren't they simply updating the current toolset for DA2?

I believe all Mike said was that should they release a toolset for DA2 it will just be an upgrade of the Origins toolset due to them being quite similar. He didn't actually say that they would definitely release it, although there is certainly the demand for it and I can't see why they wouldn't even if it's not at launch.

We're not here to include every naughty thing under the sun just because we can.

Except no one here is saying that you should include "every naughty thing under the sun". The Fact of the matter is that you choose to include sex scenes in Dragon Age, but instead of handling them with the maturity that you claim the game has, you went with PG-13 titillation. I'm not saying I want it to be gratuitous, what I'm saying is that I want it to be believable.

If you want to create a game that is mature, you need to stop treating your audience as children.

That's very hard to do when most of them ARE children.

Look up "Mordin's sex talk" on youtube.

It's arguabley one of the best lines in Mass Effect 2.

(I said "do not ingest" because you said "implications...Disturbing", a part of another golden line from Professor Mordin Solus.)

Really? What's the age group for gamers who bought DA:O?

Just curious. I really don't see the big deal. If they have interwebs, they can view boobs. Not very many ways around it.

If "children" includes teenagers under 18, then its quite probable that a significant portion of the audience is, under that defenition, children.

What is with this incessant need for pixel-boobies? Do they really add THAT much quality to a game? I'm thinking no...

You under-estimate the influence of pixel boobies on a 13-16 year old male!

And on this note, what's the point of adding romance to a game or sex at all? Or anything but 'kill the baddies?' The reason, it can add a lot to a story if done well.

It's not incessant. And yes, well-rendered breasts add quality to games.

In order of preference:

1. Fade to black, so I can use my imagination.
2. Tastefully done nude scenes with no actual nudity, because everyone likes a good tease.
3. Tastefully done nude scenes with brief nudity. Soft core. Not as fun.
4. Fully nude scenes, bordering on pornographic.
5. Dragon Age: Origins scenes, which are incredibly lame.

It's not about "pixel-boobies", really. It's about not being lame. :P

EDIT:  And by the way, that God of War clip that someone linked is horrible.  First, the nudity is excessive.  Second, why are you using buttons to control what two girls do while they watch the real action instead of, um, watching the real action?  Why are do you need to hit buttons at all?  Interactive cutscenes are completely fail.  Finally, the girl that you just had sex with still has her panties on!  So it's still only partial nudity!  Anyway, there's nothing "tasteful" about it.  That scene is about as close to soft core video game porn as you can get.

No -need-, the problem isn't that there are no boobs, the problem is the hilariously awkward dry-humping in DAO.

Rather than forcing some pixel porn into the game with "realistic" sex scenes they should rather use the resourses on story.. And I'm no citizen of the US of A, but I do know FOX network... Implications, unpleasant... Lose customers, less money for EA & Bioware, less money on next game.

There is no reason to anger customers unnesserarily, and yes, the world is screwed up when it's alright to portray violence to 13+ but nipples, oh no..

But seriously, it is not needed. I could throw more arguments, but I do not want to go after the player instead of the ball.

There's one school of thought that suggests that violence is something we know from the day we are born.  A mature attitude towards sex takes time to develop.

You missunderstand, the problem isn't what the games aren't showing; it's that they pretend like there is nothing to show, that there is no such thing as a nipple. I feel like that kind of censorship takes away a lot of believability and seriousness from the story.

Don't be daft. You know as well as I do that The Witcher had full frontal nudity in-game. The statement means exactly what it says. That they aren't cutting anything out. They are just replacing the sex cards with actual scenes. We've already gotten a taste of the Triss one. Buttshot and all.

That's one way to totally avoid adressing any part of the comment i made. Which was the statement itself was quite self-contradicting, so "means what exactly is says" is rather meaningless. The Triss scene only seems to support that, considering the "buttshot and all" actually is "shot of a butt submerged in water and very little else". Which is actually close to what the scenes were like in the first game indeed, but nowhere near what the cards from first game could be like. So if based on that you expect to see cutscenes of people having sex with graphics and angles as explicit as the card games from the first game (instead of camera tricks to suggest rather than show) and believe that would be seen as 'no different' from what the first game offered in this regard by the rating board... well, i don't think it'd be me here being purposefully daft.

There is no censorship. Bioware chose to not include nudity in their game.
