Why shouldnt there be easy sex in a game?

There is in real life! at 45 years old I can still walk into any singles bar, buy a lady a drink, say a few fake compliments and have a partner for the night (IE "I flirted a bit now get in my tent").

Why does every relationship in RPGs have to be grand romance and relationship!
Sometimes sex is sex and women can be that easy (not counting hookers and escorts)

I liked DA:O that you could get Morrigan in the tent fast, I also liked that getting Morrigan in the tent didnt mean you were in a relationship inisially and that for that you still had to work at it!

Im a romantic at heart but not everything has to be grand romance, sometimes sex is sex, there is no reason to build anymore into it.

Gotta admit, thats one of the things that draws me to The Geralt character in The Witcher franchise, hes a womanizer and is unappoligetic about it. He was that way in the books and is that way in the games and personally I LOVE IT! Just anouther part of his personality coming out for all to see.

So no, I see nothing wrong with "we flirted abit, now get in my tent"

well i actually disagree with you on the buildup thing. not because im a pervert who wants to get "to da panddies" as fast aas possible, but for logic reasons and for storytelling reasons. i mean, a couple having no sex for some years is simply immature. and if we wanted to build the romance up with shy characters who just dont fall in love with each other no matter what we do is also nonsense, especially if the game spans ten years. at some point you'd just want to shout "NOW tell him/her what you feel and be over with it, DAMMIT". besides, more "easy to get" characters with real romances building up afterwards (zevran, morrigan) arent possible if you put the sex into the end of the game....
to the sex scenes themselves: what we had in DA1 pretty much sucked, mainly because it appeared to declare sex as "evil" and censored much more then necessary and -by that- became tasteless. just imagine the scenes with naked people or just download a mod for that and youll get what i mean...

I think you need to rephrase your wording that not having sex is immature. It's neither mature nor immature. It's a personal choice.

Most people don't want to sleep with someone they're interested in they moment they meet them. In ME, you have, like, five-seven conversations with someone. I'd say things moved pretty fast.

I thought it was appropriate for Zevran and Morrigan's characters that they would sleep with you early; it wouldn't have been for Alistair and Leliana. I'd prefer to see story over blatant, gratuitous sex.

People who say ME1 did it well mean that the scene itself was done tastefully, not necessarily the whole romance. At least, that's what I think.

Yeah I can agree with that. ME2 and DAO were both awkward.. especially The Priize! line. heh

I know what you mean with the characters like Zevran and Morrigan, they're the exception.
And I can't use mods, because I'm on console.  But I get what you're saying.

The timing on this scene was awful. It made me hate both of them. It felt tacky. As for presentation...well, I felt a bit like a creep taking off Madison's bra, but the scene was done pretty well.

I think the worst bit of character animation was Leli's song. That was worse than cringe worthy. I think that after the first time I have turned off the screen until it's finished. Love the music, but the animation just ruins the whole thing. In general I think that they should get the guys who did Warden's Fall to do cut scenes in the game. They got so much out of the digital actors, it looks incredible, and they have a fantastic eye for camera angles. The writing leaves a bit to be desired, but a script written by Bioware coupled with the camera work of these guys would be unbeatable.

In all likelihood, the sex scenes will be removed, just kiss and fade to black. Considering Bioware has been toning them down ever since the ME incident (Damn you Fox News! Damn you for holding sway over the parents of a significant portion of Bioware's supporter base!)

well imo, ALMOST any romance is better than none. I'm glad Bioware is doing romance in their games. I would also agree that Bioware should go for FULL nudity rather than romance in underwear or w/e.

I think people overestimate the effect Fox's coverage of ME had on Bioware's love scenes. It was just a columnist making stuff up about the game's content and Fox picking up on it without bothering to check their facts first. What was actually in the game didn't really matter because the whole controversy was based on fantasy.



If anything I think they might not be censoring themselves enough. The Dragon age scenes were set up quite explicitly, except for the fact that everyone kept their underwear on, which was somewhat jarring. However I think that keeping the scenes the same and removing all clothing would have pushed them too far in the other direction, making it look like a poor facsimile of pornography.



The best balance Bioware has managed so far is in Mass Effect 1. It hinted at explicitness without actually showing us too much.

I really don't understand the problem people are having with the characters in Origins in the "sex" scene having their underwear on. Has nobody ever heard of dry humping or foreplay? Sorry but I don't need to see an actual sex scene in a game to fulfull my "romance" with whatever LI I have at that time. I'd be perfectly fine with a "kiss & fade to black" thing, but I am interested in how Bioware will handle romances since they said this game will span a decade, will your partner eventually want to leave you, get tired of you, marriage? Who knows, but mostly I don't care if there is nudity in the game, but I don't believe it's necessary to convey the story of the game, it's merely an option, wouldn't miss it if it wasn't there.

Mass effect did it well. it was tasteful yet captured the characters lust and love for one another. Full frontal nudity would be another suitable option as well as in a game that is "Mature" and that has large ungodly amount of blood at the slightest hit seeing two naked people having sex (Yeah I've never heard of people have full penertrative sex in there underwear) wouldn't be that bad.

In my opinion you either do the love scenes tastefully or if your going to show everything (as you chose to for DAO) then I would suggest to make it a bit more mature and realistic.

Why do I care you ask. I'll tell you why. I see Dragon age as a pretty realistic dark game (realistic in its fantasy setting). Its dark, its gritty. All that seems to be lost in these generic underwear bashes that seemed to represent morrigans affection for my warden. Surly I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Even if making it full frontal would guarantee more flak why not make it tasteful like mass effect or just show a bit of foreplay and fade to black. Just my two cents. discuss .

I hope for better sex scenes but idc.  I'm hoping the game doesn't a dating sim because people make so many romance demands.

WOW, Again WOW!

Leliannas song remains one of the most impressive moments of any RPG for me.
I didnt expect and it was so well done (visually and musically)

I love how it showed each party member at certain points and how they react to what shes saying.

One of the biggest WOW moments I ever had in a RPG, rates right up there with "You ARE Revan"
