@ TJ . . . I understand that ME2 feels like you have more dialog with each party member on the ship, but there is more than double of them. In ME1, you actually get to know each party member much more so, than most of the members in ME2. Most. A few have almost the same amount of dialog, but much of that is on the loyalty missions.
Fortunesque is also backing it up with facts, here. It's indisputable. ME2 is TPS with a story, and some minor rpg elements. ME1 was a rpg with shooter elements, and it allowed the game to be much more personal with crew members as well as the story as a whole.
Just sayin'
How many times have you played through ME 1 and 2?
You can finish the main story with 90% of the dialogue in 8-10 hours in ME.
It takes about 20-22 hours to finish the main storyline of ME 2 to get 80% of the dialogue.
I'm glad you just tried to make up random facts right there.
I beat ME2 in 14 hours... doing everything but N7 missions.

Average ME1 score:
Press: 9.1 (out of 62 ratings)
Readers: 9.1 (out 9245 ratings)
Average ME2 score:
Press: 9.3 (out of 112 ratings)
Reader: 9.2 (out of 4021 ratings)
That's from IGN. And, really, those are averages from thousands of people, and IGN has a pretty diverse cross section of gamers.
Press reviews are professional reviews...
And I'm just goign to throw this out there, but "professional reviewers" are still biased people too.

So did you not read my post?
The ratings I used in my post were not FROM IGN ALONE.
GTA4 got a perfect score from one IGN reviewer because, as I said, "professional reviewers" are compltely biased in how they rate a game.
Therefore saying, "Oh, ME2 got a few more higher scores than ME1, so clearly it is a much better game and that proves my point." is stupid.

LOL! That's part of the fun... you're all..."why would you go in there to help samara and then kill her if they both supposedly have the same amount of power?" ... The answer is for the lulz, teh hawtness, and actually if you think about it from a renegade standpoint, Morinth would make more sense to recruit anyway. She'd "owe you one" for saving her life and she would be less likely to kill you later for any renegade things you did since she doesn't go by the justicar code. She'd also be more willing to help you in the future since she is drawn to your power and wants to be around you.
I'm not sure I'd want her to "owe" me anything after seeing that vid.
Well, you could make the one thing she owes you.... not to kill you. lmao!
psssst.... I love how we are just having a random ass convo about characters in a thread about ME1 replay value that has turned into a "which game is better" thread. lmao!
True ....probably what I'd ask of her....since Ash is my LI
Thread derailment is fun isn't it?
I agree there, but I'd recruit her just on the fact that I think she's more interesting than Samara.... that and isn't she one of the few Ardat Yakshi's left?
Sadly Ash isn't my LI in every game. I've got a couple FemShep runs that don't romance her (cause it isn't possible in ME1... though I do have one modded ME2 FemShep/Ash romance that I hope I can import into ME3).
A Shepard who cheated... just to see what happens in ME3. And a Shepard I kept single just to romance Jack.
But my "canon" is Ash and a few of my other's romance her too... oh and I never kill her off. I just can't. lol
