Last year NWN2 was barely represented at NWCon V. There was only one NWN2
event the entire weekend. We really want the NWN2 community to be better
represented in this years event, so we're calling on the NWN2 community
to stand up and be counted! We need event administrators and players
both!
THE DARK HOURS BEGIN Friday September, 10
The dead shall rise and dance until SUNDAY September 12!
All are summoned! The Living and the Dead! Players, DMs, and Builders alike ARISE! ARISE and beget unto us your Mad Skilz!
You are called to attend the DOOM & GLOOM DANCE FIESTA!
All must attend!
Role Players and Hack 'n Slashers... ATTEND!
PvPers and PvEers... STAND FORTH
PWs and Campaigners... COME AND BE COUNTED
NWNers and NWN2ers... NO YELLING AT EACH OTHER!
Events
are being scheduled at NeverwinterConnections.com. All builders and DMs
are formally requested to come by and set up a table (virtually
speaking, of course). All open or application events scheduled for this
weekend will be promoted as NWCon events, and participants may even be eligable for prizes. Last year Skunkeen hussled up some cool stuff to give away. Bioware coughed up a few copies of The Witcher and Katarina Dragonstar went home with a real NWN engraved sword from Atari.
By the way, if you see her, DON'T mess with Katarina Dragonstar.
If
you love Multi-Player this is a chance to play with some of the best
DM's ever! If you've never tried it this is a great chance to see what
the big deal is.
If you need any help setting up an event, or even just signing up for one, contact me at NWCon6@MarshallHomeWeb.com and I'll give you a hand.

I'll be there in some fashion. I was thinking of launching my Oriental Adventures DM'd campaign at NWCon but it won't be ready. I had assumed it would be at the end of September.
But there are some things that Pain is arranging that I'll be joining in on.
By the way, where were they giving away this stuff. IRC?

I have no Idea what the plans are for this year. Skunkeen is the fella with the friends in high places. Last year he just assigned prizes to the event DMs with competitive events and we told him who the winners were. He took care of the rest. A few DMs got some prizes too based on player feedback (In NWC players can score the DM after the event).

Well Skunkeen has scored us some booty for this years event. Obsidian has generously donated 3 prizes which will be given out to participants in this years NWCon VI event. He's not saying exactly what, only that it's "signed stuff", so it should have a special appeal to any collectors out there. Stay tuned for more news as we get it!

Hey I joined the irc server
irc.neverwinterconnections.com (which was somewhat difficult to find) and the channel #nwnconnections only to find it pretty much abandoned and the few people there don't know anything about this event. Can you perhaps explain what this is in less words, I don't mind reading but there's too much referencing and not enough actual information. If I understand correctly nwncon is just a gathering of nwn/nwn2 community where they chat and possibly set-up some events. Perhaps if there is an IRC server/channel where I can just make my inquiries without having to read a lot of stuff is available ;D?

Might want to use the nwn2 community rep chat channel, it's still pretty active with both NWN1 and NWN2 devs pretty busy there. It's basically where the community is, and those doing the major new things in both games tend to hang out there, or pop in from time to time at least.

Yep. Use the NWN2 IRC Chat. The old NWC one went down for like a year and never recovered.

I went and checked it, but I didn't see any (NWNCon or other) NWN2 games/events scheduled on NWN Connections for a casual gamer like myself. Perhaps I am missing something?

You didn't miss anything. No NWN2 games have been posted. Sea of Dragon and Dungeon Eternal X have stated they will do something but haven't posted anything yet.
I was going to start my OA campaign at NWCon6 but I would need a few more weeks to get it ready.
If you can host, perhaps you could create an event. Host Keep on the Borderlands and have a few open slots for people to join. Or encourage your favorite PW to host a DM'd event for NWCon6.

Yep. So far not a single NWN2 DM or builder has stepped up. Is there anyone out there willing to represent for NWN2?

I'm a builder of a SP mod for NWN2. Represent what? I'm not sure how can represent anything. Answer questions on the NWN2 toolset?
From the nwcon.net site:
Q: Where can I hang out and chat with other NWN fans?
A: There is an IRC chat room at http://nwn2source.net/irc/
I already hang out there, and answer questions when I can. Many knowledgeable nwn2 community people hang out there, plus there are some nwn1 folks in there as well.

A scheduled IRC chat for NWN2 builders would be awesome. I wish I could think of some way you could showcase your mods, but NWCon is really all about MP.

@ Pain: Just signed up for your chat. I'll be a bit late (1/2 hour to 1 hour). But I'll come.

HELP! The NWCon is only days away and nobody has stepped up to run an NWN2 open game! Anyone out there got the chops to run something?

Hmm...
I think there is something for Sea of Dragons PW.
Anyways, I think the NWCon is a little too early this year. School has just started and most people haven't had time to adjust. Last year was a bit better at the end of September. Ideally, something like Halloween (end October) would be great.

Urk, SoD will do something, but I can't schedule a definite time. Something like this Friday at 9:30 PM CST (3:30 GMT I think) work? I can't be sure of my schedule, the weekend is a bad one for some of the other DMs, and the others don't have a set schedule either, so what I gave is the best I can do at the moment. If that works, I'll try to think of a bit better description than "event".
Really, NWCon just happened to fall on about the worst weekend possible.

Logging onto SoD now to get the server's files! I'm hoping I can clear my schedule so can jump in. The description says for levels 1-60. Hope a 50th level friendly Paladin doesn't accidentally step on my 1st level character
Edit: Hmmmm can't seem to find the server. Not even with direct connect. I'll have to check in the morning.
Re-Edit: Found it. Downloading ADL now. This thread on their forum helped:

I noticed that the IP address I connected to was 99.144.248.155

Great Jester. Not to be cheeky, but what the heck...
If you can put together an European evening event, I'll be there.

Just a bump for those interested in logging onto Sea of Dragons. Seems I connected at IP address:
99.144.248.155
From their forums, when using the server browser, look for "Elmwood' in the module name.
If I'm incorrect with this info, I'll delete it as soon as I can. I am downloading the ADL currently.

If we do an European event it will have to be another DM and unscheduled. The server IS open 24/7 however, so anyone can log on and hope for an event. The whole problem is that tonight at the time I posted is about the only time I can be relatively sure of being around to do anything. Unfortunately, that does leave out Europeans, but it can't be helped.
And yes, the IP did get changed accidentally.
In regards to levels, NWN2 doesn't even allow up to level 60, so...

Hey, tomorrow's Saturday, you Euro-workers'll just have to stay up extra late. Don't you all get a day off on Saturday?

Yeah. The Neverwinter Connections home page is misleading. I just use nwcon.net to go to the better home page.
