If Bethany touches Varric...
:puts on latex wrestling uniform:

MUD WINE WRESTLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(it's the third time I have mentioned this)

On a serious note, yeah, it would add realism, 10 years is a lot of time spent together. I have always wondered what it would be like to see Zevran and Leliana as a couple.^_^

I have a double standard--and an obvious one--when it comes to love triangles in video games. Ones in which NPCs compete for the affections of the PC can be fun if done tastefully. The catfighting in BG was a bit much for me, but the snark between Atton and Disciple in KOTOR 2 was adorable and hilarious.

Ones in which the PC competes with other NPCs for the affection of an LI are not fun. And ultimately, it comes down to funsies. That insufferable harpy Aerie is primo example of the NOT FUNNESS of competing with a digital character for an LI.

Varric touchs bethany...as he retells a story...and he says you liked it...and the interrogator stops him there...Because the chantry has no need for that info....

I still want a HERPDERP playthrough in which I make Hawke take the actions most likely to result in Varric breaking Cassandra's brain.  And if that means sacrificing my sis to dwarven sausage fingers, so be it.

Varric should really hit on Cassandra in a playful way during a very serious discussion...I expect it in a alistair/morrigan sort of convo.

THIS.  I'm a lazy, lazy bum.  I don't have the desire or the energy to deal with the crappery related to "chasing" people romantically IRL.  I can't be bothered to care much more in video games with pixelated dudes.  How I got a boyfriend is beyond me.

I 100% agree.

Better yet are the modded romances in which you can kill your competitor, not tell your LI, and have the stupid bint die later of a broken heart or somesuch nonsense over your deception.  Whee.

Remind me after my friend's Second Wedding-thingy to write up a totally awesome Ginsbergian story that it's my head. But I have to sleep to make it to the Second Wedding-thingy.

I generally dislike the idea, about the only way I can even see it 'maybe' working would be if it were like, the 'side-quest' thing, like Allistair with his sister, Leliana with Marjolaine, Morrigan with the Grimoire, etc. If my potential LI had like, an old flame and for whatever storyline reason she ended up running into them and they wanted her back, and I had to end up fighting that person for her, that at least would have a chance at being interesting and fun. At least it would be a change of pace from the ordinary anyway :) .

I even expressed my dislike for that scenario weeks ago, and quoted it here. It is honestly worse than Carth syndrome...not that I'd want to pick between either of them...

I don't. Get used to it.

I never said you were wrong to think so; I just expressed my extreme dislike of the scenario.

Not really true. Women still have to make some kind of effort and if I liked someone no I wouldn't sit on my arse and expect some man meat to fall at my feet but as far as competing? there is more men in the world and I sure as heck wouldn't cat fight for that lol

But in the game the characters don't really chase you either with say Alistiar, YOUR character has to set the wheels in motion. Where as Lel throws it out there to test the waters and so does Zev.

That's what fire extinguishers are for.

Though in all seriousness, my problem with LIs having relationship baggage depends on how it's handled.  Garrus, Valen, and Zev all had relationships before hooking up with the PC, and I had no problem.  It was mentioned, dealt with, and everyone moved on.  Other LIs, most notably Carth, had problems with the whole moving on bit.  And I most likely killed them

Well, a woman can pick up a guy quite easily without a lot of effort. Although that tends to end up not being very fufilling relationships with the guy either expecting / wanting a one night stand or something. I've been to a bar with a friend of mine and she picks up guys whenever she goes there without really trying, free drinks and everything.

She then puts her drinks on my tab and I'm forced to pay for them, I haven't gone drinking with her in months but I suspect it's the same thing.

I guess men are a dime a dozen to you...Pieces of meat to be used and thrown away?People these days have no respect for the man...Someone should really put a stop to this mistreatment...=]
Seriously the least amount effort you have to put is to simply ask and you can get 50% of guys from just that.:D
