I think it is about time we got our own trailer! Even if it is just on the website.
I think it was time for a female trailer years ago but bioware seems to be frightened it may upset the guys so they just use male PC's.
We don't even have an image for a female PC, why is that?
Just to let you know i am a guy and would love to see the female version.

There will always be threads from other threads into new threads. That is why they are threads, they go on and on and on and make a sweater.

Err. If you ****** us, do we not bleed? What, you can't show a female warrior bleeding? I'm puzzled.SirGladiator wrote...
I think given that in the first trailer the main character did a fair bit of bleeding, it was understandable they'd want to use the male character for that, but maybe in the next trailer the main character can win her battle more decisively, and Lady Hawke can be the one featured in it. It certainly would be cooler with her in it anyway.
Gentle flowers cannot bleed.
On a more serious note, even though this is the 100000000th thread about this issue, would really love to see the trailer. One of the devs has confirmed that there is a FemHawke in the making (not sure if its for trailer purposes) so its not too far-fetched.
And who was the most badass boss in the game? Ser Cauthrien. Many players didn't even know that she could be beaten (many thought that it was necessary to lose to go through the Fort Drakon rescue part).

I bet no one will be upset. I'd love to see a trailer with female PC, debut trailer was kind of... Too generic. And red eyes... Come on! Stop stealing idea, impress us already!fchopin wrote...

As a male I support showcase of a badass chick (with decapitations). To be honest, I can't think of a part of audience that will be upset. They probably want default male Hawke face to be printed on merchandise. I say - print a blood dragon and you can add anything you want - default Hawke, qunari, cheese wheel. Blood Dragon is a viable symbol and trademark already.tpryan01 wrote...
We'll they worry about possibly upsetting males and by doing so they are definitely upsetting females. I could by it on DA:0 and ME1 but come on now what do we have to do?

If anything, I'm upset with emo Hawke (from the trailer).
Same here.Niarviel wrote...
The reason they didn't release a female hawke at the start isn't because of guys, Speaking as one my self, i would love to have seen a sexy fem hawke starting off the game instead of a guy. I am rather getting tired of staring at male back's all the time in most games, and i play my fair share of RPG's as a female.

I agree with you, the time for worrying about which sex to show should have been over years ago.

before ranting about me being sexistic and offensive and whatever else: its not about a female character not appealing me or the majority of the males in this forum. i for one wouldn't mind a strong female "non max-sex-zero-brain" character. but the marketing isnt about the ones in the forum here for well buy the game no matter what, but about the gamers out there who never heard about the game or are insecure. and here counts: when it comes to female characters, sex sales.

Are you a woman? Don't you want to see what your experience will look and sound like?... "
Yes i am female. yeah i would like to see Femhawke and both male, and female versions of Hawke's VA.
The way you've worded it...."yet we've been shunned." No i believe we haven't been 'shunned' in DA and ME. I believe bioware isn't discriminating/against the female audience/versions of Hawke and Shepard by excluding the female versions thus far. if any, they support it by giving players the option to roleplay a female role, with the same options (VA, character creation, LI's etc)
From a marketing pov, it makes sense to use 1 image/character to sell your game. From the prespective of a gamer, that does not follow the news of the game(like us hardcore fans), when they see a promo of eg. femhawke, they may think it was another character. misinformation and confusion sets in.
Aswell as the cost of making a female version of the exact same trailer seems silly, like doubling your efforts to the same end. and more wasted funds if the trailer just hits the website. (bioware reps have already posted on this topic. they are marketing to the main audience.)
I'm all in for screenshots and VA they put up on the website, which by the way, bioware has said will be released in future, not a full trailer.
bioware hasn't even released the VA of malehawke, at least to those not at the conventions. so i do not think the female audience is being 'shunned'
patience. we bearly know anything about the game yet.

Who said anything about wanting the exact same trailer, only with LadyHawke in it? That would just be a waste of resources. I'm saying bring on a gameplay trailer with the lovely Lady in it. Bring on screenshots. Just bring her on!iampool wrote...
Now, to all the males who "want" a female trailer who is exactly the same as the one released only with a female hawke, what would you said if instead of that you could get 2.04 mins of awesome gameplay? Still want the trailer?
@dark-lauron, that would only make it easier to gut the hulking qunari. The bigger they are, the harder they fall, aye?

@Saibh, I agree, of course. However, I'm rarely appeased with mere promises. As soon as we see LadyHawke, I'll make sure to be appropriately appreciative. Until then, I like to take part in keeping the requests to see her on the front page

Still, I'm very pleased that they seem to be showing off a female pc sooner rather than later this time around. Lady Hawke deserves her time in the spotlight too!

Gameplay footage WILL happen. That's almost a fact. I waited 6 years for Dragon Age, I can wait a few days, weeks, months, for a gameplay footage in DA2.
Female trailer--Not a fact.
So I'd still vote for a female trailer.

The reasoning of the OP doesn't make much sense to me, but Bioware sticking to their male protagonists doesn't either. Did Lara Croft drive male gamers off? I assume not...
Yeah, it's about time there's more marketing with a Lady Hawke (or a FemShep in Mass Effect's case). Male gamers will for sure not mind seeing it or will even applaud it, so no idea what Bioware is still using the typical seasoned warrior guy for... had that enough, time for a change.
