I have tired every fix in the forums here to get the DLC, that I paid for and used to be able to use, to get from unauthorized back to authorized. I have even uninstalled the games a couple of times, tired the "beta fix" and still end up with one or move unauthorized. SOMEONE IN BIOWARE PLEASE FIX OR GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK!

I am very disappointed. :(

First, you should check that you are logged in game with the very same account you used to purchase your DLCs or redeem your promo code(s).

Secondly, here is the procedure I follow after each DA:O launch and before clicking New, Resume or Load. This way, I ensure that I do not have any unauthorized issue:
1. from main menu, check that you are logged in then select Downloadable Content
2. if you see your DLCs on a green background and Points Balance updating, skip to step 7
3. wait for Point Balance to be updated
4. close panel
5. click again Downloadable Content
6. this time you should see your installed DLC on a green background and the Points Balance in update mode again
7. wait for Points Balance to be updated
8. close panel and load your saved game.
You only have to proceed this way on your first savegame load after each DA:O launch. Once this is done, you can directly load savegames during the same session.

If this procedure does not work, you may want to start Dragon Age Updater service prior to launching game and following the above steps. For this, open Windows main menu, select Run..., type "services.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter. In the Services window, look for Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater service. Right-click on this service and select Start in the contextual menu. Once the service has started, relaunch DA:O.

(You may find useful information about the Dragon Age Updater service here)

Usualy the problem is having to shut down and then manually restart the dragon age updater service. Also dumping its cache and manualy removing files helps otherwise it gets stuck trying to download files it already has.

I can't believe they havn't fixed this already. This has seriously impacted my trust in bioware.

Kinda hard to code when in the majority of cases its your computer causing the problems not the games code. Or the less then intelligent people who dont link accounts, or register their accounts correctly.

Just because you play a game, doesn't mean you need to be an expert or even savvy when it comes to dealing with computers. If registration is not done right, its probably due to bad instructions and lack there of. And after seeing how many people out there are having this problem and the extensive FAQs to fix that that are provided by players, I am rather disappointing the Bioware hasn't used this information to create a comprehensive guide in their help section for the sake of players being able to access a reliable source that's easy to find, even if there isn't a patch yet. I've not had any major problems with the game except with the download content saying that it's unauthorized, even after trying quite a few attempts to fix the problem.

I consider Dragon Age an absolutely fantastic game! I only criticize the support offered for what seems to be a rather common problem. I could make a page long post about what's absolutely awsome about Bioware, but I think I'll do that i n a review and save the forum for the issues yet to be solved.

I am having a the same issue here.

Check to see if the DA updater service is running and if it is linked correctly to the right location.

Just had this problem myself for the first time. And I have been playing for almost a year. Just popped out of nowhere!

Edit: I have followed the instructions above, and adjusted the rights for the Updater service. It still shows all my DLC as Unauthorized. Rebooted computer, nothing. Very sad.

The game worked fine last night but as of just an hour ago my DLC is unaurthorized. Not to mention the 600 so bioware points just disappeared. The only change I made is I updated to IE9 and that has not affected any of the other games I play.

Bioware points ARE Available. Look in the Checkout area.

Now that you mention it the points are on the webpage. Just not in game anymore. Hopefully they get the server fixed so we can go about our merry way of salying the archdemon.....

yeah I talked to support and the guy told me to uninstall the game and change the Admin account on my computer because that was the only way to solve it. I'm not doing that going to reinstall and then make sure everything works on my old saved games and then log off as suggested, oh and the guy on the support chat ask for my email account and DLC codes, have a mind to report it him for that.(no I didn't give him the info.)

So, despite having been playing fine all week, I log on tonight to find all of my paid, registered DLC is now unauthorized, my Bioware points balance set to --, and none of the usual fixes work (deleting provile.dap in Settings, clearing download cashe, restarting the DA updater service, etc.). Now I am barred from all my saved games, since I am apparently unauthorized to access my paid and registered content.

That sort of makes me mad.

So I take it your game content is fully operational? Or are you one of the rest of us "less than intelligent people"?

I am in the same boat. I was playing last night. Everything was fine; today nothing. I did notice over the past couple of days that when I first tried to log on it gave me that message and when I tried again it worked. Multiple retries, reboots, relogging today and nothing.

Same thing here, just got this issue for the first time today. I was playing last night and I had no problems but today I try to play and nope, not authorized. When I look at my registered content on the Bioware site, all the stuff is there. Hopefully they'll have it fixed soon.

Epic fail... like many it appears, played Awakening yesterday and finished it - everything worked just fine. Today... alld DLC is unauthorized content. For crying out loud (read something alot more profane) this ticks me off.
And I RARELY post... so its obviously really ticked me off if even I have gotten to this point.
GRR!!!!

Does anyone know if this happens often? I have only been playing for a few weeks and this is my first time it came up. I really like this game, I hate to see it have this problem...makes me not want to buy DAII.

Same thing.

Had DA:O since launch, never had this issue.

Playing it again after the horror show of DA2, and just out of the blue, my DLCs became Unauthorized and my Bioware poins say -- instead of 1k+.

EXTREMELY annoying.

I'm glad to see I'm not alone with this issue. I am a little sad and frightened to see that this has been an ongoing issue for many many months and that what appears to be a "rash of outages" today has been left unfixed for most of the day.
