 ok ive searched the tech help forums for 2 days now and i cant find anything pertaining to this so here goes;

i got mass effect 2 and i just installed it on my new gaming laptop and i had previous games on my desktop so i just transfered them over and so far so good the save games play and all is fine UNTIL i go to import my completed me2 save game what it does is i import the save game and it goes through all the cut scenes and such up to the first point where the first normandy is geting blown up then when your suppost to take control of shepard it just goes to black screen with sound effects goin and even the menu if you press escape but no actual game screen comes up just noise and black nothingness 
comp specs are as follows;

Win 7 x64 bit
AMD phenom II N930 quad core mobile processor @ 2Ghz
500gb HD
4Gb of ram
ATI Radeon HD 5470 video card with 512mb VRam

P.S.

oh and im having this problem on both versions of the game, retail dvd and ea digital download

Did you also transfer over the old BioWare folder that is in the My Documents folder ? Not using the old Gamersettings.ini and all the other files in the Mass Effect 2 folder can some times cause issues when you go to play an older saved game. So if you still have the old BioWare folder try using that an see if that fixes the problem.

ok no i didnt realize that but it does it even on the saves original pc so i dont know i'll try reseting that file if i can

Are you able to play ME2 normally without importing saves? I notice your graphics card (GPU) ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 which is not designed to run large 3D games.

yes and actually the card runs large games fin i actually run ME2 on my 1080p tv through the hdmi port at a 720p resolution with no problems and i can import a me1 save fine but any me 2 save just wont load the first level

Were the old saves from a previous patch version? Maybe you need to patch the new installation(s)?

no there the same version the laptop one i patched before i tried playing the other save
