Just curious. I played both ME games on the console. Primarily because they were designed as console games, and I wanted to play them the way they were meant to be played. Likewise, for DAO, I play that on my PC because it was designed for that platform. (Although I should mention that I bought it on my 360 first and hated it that way. Once I got it for my PC, I loved it.)
If you're one of the folks that play ME2 on your PC, how is it? Do you find it more immersive, the UI more intuitive? The gameplay more difficult, about the same, or easier? I'm not really entertaining any thoughts of getting either ME game for my PC, but I'm just genuinely curious how it plays there.
Do play ME2 on the PC or the console?

I play exclusively on my PC because I really can't get round those game pads. So counter intuitive for me.
Also I don't own a console.
I manage fine. I remap the keys to the arrow keys for movement and I use a Logitech trackman mouse, which way back in the days of Quake & Doom I found much more responsive when death matching my then young son! (well it was something we could do together!) I also use a gull-wing ergo keyboard as I spend a lot of time writing at my PC.
Yes, it is immersive, but I have to have lower the lighting level to get the full feel for it, not too low as I wouldn't be able to see the keyboard. Headphones also help a lot. I wouldn't game any other way. Plus we can access all the game files, including unused audio files. I personally like being in control of where files go on my PC, and tweaking performance and visuals, and a gaming consol doesn't give me that control.

2 or 3 years ago I got Mass Effect for my xbox and I absolutely hated it. Couldn't stand it. Picked it up again about a year ago now in a steam sale and it's become my favorite game series.
So PC.
So PC.

I have it on Xbox.
I'll be buying the PC version so since I heard it is more fun with modding.

P.C. forever.
The P.C. is simply the better way to play, work or do whatever you want.

Console Makes gameplay alot more fluid and responsive, Keyboards just aren't the same
I've never had problems with cover like many complain about
I always get headshots
and i beat insanity only dying like twice on my first try(although i had already done hardcore twice)
Modding isn't worth paying 700$ for a good gaming PC

360. I have a 6+ years old PC, which isn't an option for any contemporary game.

If you want to play the game in real time, and you do if you're looking for immersion/exciting game play, you need the PC version. You can't play the xbox version without turning to the power wheel.

You obviously already have a desktop unless you're posting from a library or something, and that probably cost you like, $400 maybe? The extra investment towards a gaming pc as opposed to just a regular pc is usually less than the price of a new console. I also enjoy the superior control scheme, resolution, textures, and non existant load times, but to each their own, I suppose.

Console. I like playing games from my couch. Plus, my friend bought ME2 for me after seeing how hooked I'd been on ME1.

For me, Mass Effect is a console game. I just can't imagine playing it on PC, probably because it's a shooter and clicking to shoot just doesn't feel real. Not to mention that TVs are generally much bigger (possibly with a better sound system) than computer monitors, making the whole experience more immersive. I have yet to see a mod out there that makes me really want the PC version. Then there's the fact that consoles will always be able to run a game designed for them, which isn't a sure thing for PCs.
That said, I actually play more PC games than console games, so I am definitely not a console fanboy.

360 is like 60$ used and under 200$ new....This is on a laptop which was about 200$
load times are also very low on 360 when installed to hardrive
Superior control scheme? i hardly agree keyboards simply aren't as fluent as controllers even with hotkeys
Mass effect isn't pretty enough for me to care about slightly improved textures or res

I think the original poster knows how comfortable the various seating arrangements of his/her house is and how much his/her computer cost and is more interrested in how the two games compare.
On that note I might add that ME2 has a minimalistic UI. You'll spend very little time in menus so the fact that it's probably marginally simpler to find the journal entry you're looking for and pick the right weapon on the PC doesn't count for much. The advantages of playing the original ME on PC was greater (for this and other reasons).

PC. I don't use a full sized keyboard though. Belkin N52 is the cats meow for so many games. I also like greater resolution over a TV. Though to be fair, I could hook up with HDMI and have uber huge screen to play on. *Pets SLI*

PC. I also used a Belkin N52 until it wore out and now use a Logitech G13. Can't get any better than that.

I'm old too
Interesting that someone (was it the OP?) said that they couldnt get into DA on the console but the PC version they loved. I bought DA for my 360 (after ME2) and just haven't been able to enjoy it, currently its languishing on my pile of shame - maybe I should get it for PC then?

PC here too, been a PC gamer for 20 odd years and my preferred control scheme is good ole WASD + Mouse. Loved ME 1 and 2 on the PC and looking forward to ME 3 on the PC too.
