Do play ME2 on the PC or the console?

Better graphics (much better if you make a few simple edits in the .ini file), better framerate, mods, easier game management (DLC and save games, esp. in the long-run).
In my case (since having an old PC has been pointed out too as an objective criteria) far better surround with a professional audio card, studio speakers and AVR, plus I can either play on my monitor or hook up the LCD and use wireless mouse/keyboard from the couch (though comfort is subjective, I prefer playing on a desk with a comfy chair). Go PC.

Personally, I think a shooter should actually feel responsive and easy to move. Nothing can compare to the mouse. I've played shooters mostly a decade-and-half to a few years ago, and they're a PC platform genre. Sales and publishers may favor the consoles, but that's purely because of money returns. From a gamer perspective, get anything that has shooting on the PC.

I understand that Mass Effect was a Xbox original, but when EA purchased BW, they revamped it for the PC.

"As you'd expect, the PC game looks quite a bit sharper than its Xbox 360 cousin, provided that you have the hardware for it. I played on a dual core system with an Nvidia 8800GTX card and it looked incredibly sharp at 1680x1050 resolution. The frame rate was fairly steady, too, though there was the occasional hiccup now and then. I was surprised to see how much of a CPU hog it is, as both cores on my processor were constantly maxed out whenever I played. The PC game doesn't really feature any graphical enhancements, and it uses the same textures, but it still looks better on the PC screen than it does on an HD television. And the texture popping problems exhibited in the Xbox 360 game were pretty much missing from the PC."
"Mass Effect doesn't feel like a port, so don't hold the fact that it arrives six months after the Xbox 360 game against it. The interface feels like it was built for the PC, and there are a slew of improvements here that the Xbox 360 game will never get, like an improved inventory system. It's also nice that there are pretty much as many save slots as you need, which is a big improvement over the Xbox 360 game. In that version you frequently had to overwrite previous saves, which made going back to experiment with different story paths difficult."

I have both versions, but I mainly play it on the Xbox, because I can not care less about the whole "Waah, PC haz better grafix" and all that BS. I have never understood the hate between all platforms.
Yes, I have wonder too, why do people feel insulted when you describe them in such a positive and friendly way ?...

Luckily, the few games I actually considered getting a console for were announced for the PC just in time - one of those being Mass Effect 1.

Long story short, I would never dream of playing this or any other Western role-playing game on anything that isn't a PC.

Not really. Just make sure you get a mouse.Chim3ra wrote...
I play on Xbox, but I would like to play on PC, but since I cannot get a PC I was thinking of getting a Laptop (Asus G73) but does playing on a laptop take away any of the awesomeness from playing on a PC?
I was gaming on a laptop for about 2 years, but I missed the feel of a real keyboard and a nice big monitor. And putting everything on low, knocking the resolution down 2 notches, and sacrificing a goat to get a playable framerate in Crysis just wasn't cutting it for me. I've had this desktop for over 2 years, not looking to upgrade anytime soon.

Love the options for peripherals, games, and the veritable mountain of sw you can install...consoles can't match a PC's flexibility. If you have a half-way decent rig, they can't match the performance, either. Elevator rides in ME1 on PC were only long enough for a conversation, for example. Plus, if you plan your build right, you won't need to worry about having to rebuild and your rig will have long-term upgrade potential.
Currently I have twin 8800GT cards in SLI. They are Kotac AMP! cards and still handle today's games with flying colors. Currently I have my eyes on one or two nVidia DX11 cards. That will be next year's upgrade, unless I succumb to the temptation to build a brand new rig. Which can be a very powerful compulsion when faced with all the shiny new tech. ^^
Granted, not all games come out on PC as well...and that is why I have a console. :3 But whenever there's a PC option, I will get that before I will purchase the console version.
