Personally, I think a shooter should actually feel responsive and easy to move. Nothing can compare to the mouse. I've played shooters mostly a decade-and-half to a few years ago, and they're a PC platform genre. Sales and publishers may favor the consoles, but that's purely because of money returns. From a gamer perspective, get anything that has shooting on the PC.

Better graphics (much better if you make a few simple edits in the .ini file), better framerate, mods, easier game management (DLC and save games, esp. in the long-run).

In my case (since having an old PC has been pointed out too as an objective criteria) far better surround with a professional audio card, studio speakers and AVR, plus I can either play on my monitor or hook up the LCD and use wireless mouse/keyboard from the couch (though comfort is subjective, I prefer playing on a desk with a comfy chair). Go PC.

Played both ME games on the PC.. For one.. I don't have a 360.. And the second reason is simply because I prefer mouse/keyboard. I don't have any problems playing games on consoles with a controller, but if I have the chance of playing a shooter on the PC.. then I will always go for the PC version. I kinda grew up playing PC shooters so I'm simply more used to the controls..

PC. It's just too versatile for words. I have dual monitors and run the game windowed on 1 side, and a couple more other programs on the other, including this forum page.

Xbox 360 for sure, 1) I need a new computer and I may get it for the computer also, 2) I buy most of my games for the 360, some for the ps3, and PC depending on the game.

I have both versions, but I mainly play it on the Xbox, because I can not care less about the whole "Waah, PC haz better grafix" and all that BS. I have never understood the hate between all platforms. I play on the Xbox, because I feel comfortable with it. And because the PC version of ME1 refuses to work for some reason.

All pc here. I had bought a Xbox360 and a PS3 to see what all the hubbub was about. Didnt like neither of them. The whole game pad thing threw me off. Give me a KB (microsoft X6 board) and a track mouse any day. Ended up giving the Xbox to my daughter and the PS3 to my nephew.

I understand that Mass Effect was a Xbox original, but when EA purchased BW, they revamped it for the PC.

http://pc.ign.com/ar...6/876950p2.html

"As you'd expect, the PC game looks quite a bit sharper than its Xbox 360 cousin, provided that you have the hardware for it. I played on a dual core system with an Nvidia 8800GTX card and it looked incredibly sharp at 1680x1050 resolution. The frame rate was fairly steady, too, though there was the occasional hiccup now and then. I was surprised to see how much of a CPU hog it is, as both cores on my processor were constantly maxed out whenever I played. The PC game doesn't really feature any graphical enhancements, and it uses the same textures, but it still looks better on the PC screen than it does on an HD television. And the texture popping problems exhibited in the Xbox 360 game were pretty much missing from the PC."

"Mass Effect doesn't feel like a port, so don't hold the fact that it arrives six months after the Xbox 360 game against it. The interface feels like it was built for the PC, and there are a slew of improvements here that the Xbox 360 game will never get, like an improved inventory system. It's also nice that there are pretty much as many save slots as you need, which is a big improvement over the Xbox 360 game. In that version you frequently had to overwrite previous saves, which made going back to experiment with different story paths difficult."

My laptop. Never saw attraction of a console since I always have a laptop and a desktop around.

Console. Not that I have a choice. My PC is terrible at running games more advanced than Baldur's Gate 2.

Yes, I have wonder too, why do people feel insulted when you describe them in such a positive and friendly way ?...

PC, I don't own any console.

Luckily, the few games I actually considered getting a console for were announced for the PC just in time - one of those being Mass Effect 1.

I own a PlayStation 3, but I only use it to play games that are unavailable for the PC(my current console game is NIER). Ever since playing The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind on the PC, I've found that I greatly prefer the PC as a gaming platform, and most of my video game money goes into my PC, whether that's for hardware or software.

Long story short, I would never dream of playing this or any other Western role-playing game on anything that isn't a PC.

I play on Xbox, but I would like to play on PC, but since I cannot get a PC I was thinking of getting a Laptop (Asus G73) but does playing on a laptop take away any of the awesomeness from playing on a PC?

Not really. Just make sure you get a mouse.

I was gaming on a laptop for about 2 years, but I missed the feel of a real keyboard and a nice big monitor. And putting everything on low, knocking the resolution down 2 notches, and sacrificing a goat to get a playable framerate in Crysis just wasn't cutting it for me. I've had this desktop for over 2 years, not looking to upgrade anytime soon.

PC all the way. Particularly desktops. I built my rig a little over 3 years ago and it's still tearing through today's games on high-quality settings. Only the most hoggish of games force me to lower certain aspects by a notch or so.

Love the options for peripherals, games, and the veritable mountain of sw you can install...consoles can't match a PC's flexibility. If you have a half-way decent rig, they can't match the performance, either. Elevator rides in ME1 on PC were only long enough for a conversation, for example. Plus, if you plan your build right, you won't need to worry about having to rebuild and your rig will have long-term upgrade potential.

Currently I have twin 8800GT cards in SLI. They are Kotac AMP! cards and still handle today's games with flying colors. Currently I have my eyes on one or two nVidia DX11 cards. That will be next year's upgrade, unless I succumb to the temptation to build a brand new rig. Which can be a very powerful compulsion when faced with all the shiny new tech. ^^

Granted, not all games come out on PC as well...and that is why I have a console. :3 But whenever there's a PC option, I will get that before I will purchase the console version.

Since I have decent PC that can easily handle ME2 on highest details, there is no reason for me to go and buy console version for my xbox360. I prefer mouse and keyboard to controller for shooters, PC also has more hotkeys, much shorter loading times and better graphics.
