Not to mention that a good gaming monitor might cost $300, but a decent HDTV runs about $800.epoch_ wrote...
You obviously already have a desktop unless you're posting from a library or something, and that probably cost you like, $400 maybe? The extra investment towards a gaming pc as opposed to just a regular pc is usually less than the price of a new console. I also enjoy the superior control scheme, resolution, textures, and non existant load times, but to each their own, I suppose.
People always ignore the costs of the displays when comparing the two platforms.

The Mass Effect series, on the other hand, was designed first and foremost as console games. They just seem more natural on the 360. Plus I heard the port for the first ME game was really bad. Interesting comments, though, nonetheless. And by the way, I'm not a console gamer or a PC gamer. I'm just a gamer. Period.

I am not sure why people think this game is more natural on the 360. I certainly don't feel "unnatural" whilst playing it on the PC
As for ME being a bad port, not sure where you heard that but in many ways Demiurge's port of ME 1 is actually better than Biowares own efforts with ME 2. At least Demiurge made a decent attempt to tailor the interface to the PC and supported many mechanisms such as hokeys to select weapons, scrolling wheels and intelligent hotkey linking for menu items. Not saying ME 2 was a bad port but I felt Demiurge went the extra mile with ME 1.
There were naturally some problems with the port, of the top of my head I can think of Garrus's face texture being broke and some slight slowdowns in the Citidel but that is about it. Aside from the Citidel slowdowns it is a great port and I manage to play it at 2048 x 1152 and get 60fps.

His face textures were broken on the X360 too. The problem just isn't as immediately obvious since graphical quality is reduced across the board on the 360. And, the slowdowns were more common and worse on the 360 too. Peak 15 almost became a slideshow in certain areas, but on my PC it's perfectly smooth.

For me, Mass Effect is a console game. I just can't imagine playing it on PC, probably because it's a shooter and clicking to shoot just doesn't feel real. Not to mention that TVs are generally much bigger (possibly with a better sound system) than computer monitors, making the whole experience more immersive. I have yet to see a mod out there that makes me really want the PC version. Then there's the fact that consoles will always be able to run a game designed for them, which isn't a sure thing for PCs.
That said, I actually play more PC games than console games, so I am definitely not a console fanboy.
This.
CONSOLE ALL THE WAY.
because sitting on the couch, in front of a 40inch hdtv and a kick ass surround sound and a controller cant be beat.
