Vampires in Thedas are people possessed by hunger demons. They don't suck your blood, they just eat you. It's not pretty.

RUCK IS A VAMPIRE! :o:o
Also, Hunger Demons? How do THEY look like?

Undead. Skeletons with fangs.

Unless of course their "hot rod samurai" redesign has given them sparkles?

I love vampires, I do (except the broody, sparkle-happy bunch from Twilight). And a game about them (besides Bloodlines) would be great. I loved Ann Rice's vampire novels so much I named my first child after one of the main characters.

But they don't really belong in Dragon Age. In my opinion. I have a hard time imagining the Warden or Hawke having an exchange with one.

That's just what a skeleton possessed by one of them looks like, though. How the demons themselves look in the Fade or when they tear through the veil directly we don't know.

I like vampires and the entire gothic, Transylvania style that goes with them.

The Twilight series contains no vampires. What Twilight contains is bad writing, acting, and a gaping hole where a movie would usually have redeeming value. I hate what that Mormon housewife did to the good name and reputation of vampires everywhere.

To answer the original question: Hell yes, if Bioware did real vampires that didn't sparkle I'd totally be on board.

Thats the reason why the modern artists should never be given the Monalisa to play with. Especially Picasso.

The one you meet in Awakening (Blackmarsh Fade, Crypt) just looks like a Shade, but that migth conceivably just be a placeholder until they come up with a better design.

I like vampires too, I think most folks do, not counting the whole 'twilight' weirdness thing, but good old fashioned, regular vampires. Since there were werewolves in DAO, which are also cool of course and there's always room for more of also, it only seems natural and logical that there would be at least one or two vampires in DA2. It sure would be cool anyway!

As long as they twinkle while they do it, I'm happy.

Yes, and im sure they could fit a few jabs at twilight into it. Would be awkward though if it was a squadmate, in daytime though.

Only if they made it scary on par with broodmother/orphanage scariness. A person possessed by a hunger demon that terrorizes a village and you have to go hunt it down or something like that.

It'd be cool to see some sort of Dracula and/or Elizabeth Báthory pastiche in a Thedas game, for sure... but they'd have to be blood mages with extended lifespans, rather than "vampires".

I think the baroness in awakening was a Bathory reference

Point. I got that feeling too. There wasn't nearly enough of her, though. :crying:

Here I thought blood mages and reavers filled the quota of blood drinking people. But yeah, no people that drink blood and die in sunlight/sparkle in sunlight would be rather dumb in Thedas.

Yes. And make them sparkle. And let me kill them in particularly gruesome ways.

If not join them, I would at least like to go in their lair and have a word with them. Do some quest for them or something.

So, what do you think?

Yes, of course! Posted Image

Creepy BG vampires? yes.

Sparkly Twilight vampires?, no.
