No to vampires. It annoyed the crap out of me in Oblivion when I tried to get rid of that "virus" so thanks but no thanks.
And what's the deal with all that whacky Twilight stuff? A movie like that can actually be extremely good and sophisticated if it is done the swedish way like this here.

vampire overkill. they're already in movies and a bunch of tv shows. so i can see why some people would oppose it.

yet the DA universe does have werewolves. so it could work... shapeshifting-blood mage who took it too far and now all it does is feast on human blood. those who are bitten are marked by the curse she put on herself. THAT would make it interesting.

Agreed. I can't watch anything with or about vampires now without recalling Bella's annoying nonsensical whining and wanting to reach through the screen and punch her in the nose. Even talking about it now is upsetting me.

I wouldn't say "ruined", just "tarnished it". I could understand the author's desire to put her own "twist" upon the vampire/werewolf lore, but the result is to far from its roots IMO. Bending the rules on some things are fine in some instances; disregarding everything that made them what they are (burn in sunlight, etc.) is creating something entirely different and (IMO) looses the ability to be compared to previous incarnations.

To our future with vampire/werewolf books/movies: as long as it is interesting, adheres to most of the lore, and/or adds a new twist to an age old myth (no sparkles, though!), I'll be happy.

^i know with anne rices vampires the Children of the Millennia or ancient vampires, can go out in the sunlight. older vampires being more powerful then the young.(young being <1000yrs)



i guess i like some of her lore because of her writing style, even when she puts her own twist on it.

As for DA, I think they could include something like a vampire, but not directly use the term. Like a bloodmage looses his mind, and thrives off of the blood of others to fuel his magic and his life. Then you could call it a Bloodspawn or something.

I'm sorry. The glare off the pixie's body has made it impossible to enjoy anything vampire related.

Pfffttt people saying that Twilight sucks but Dusk till Dawn vamps are the nizzle... Give me Nosferatu or Shadow of the Vampire, or even Lestat.. Those vamps in Dusk till Dawn are more weak than the demons in Buffy

Dusk till Dawns vamps are a little out there, but like the one's from the film 30 Days of Night,are so removed from anything human or sympathetic. More like true monsters.

I´m a huge fan of vampires, but I don´t think it fits to the Dragon Age lore. BioWare should leave them out, and make a vampire RPG next:)
