Warrior is the most powerful class by far if you know what you're doing.

no matter what you have equiped either a  mage or a rogue will beat you.
If you don't change your equiped items....

Cleared the game 4 times on nightmare now, and gotta say, Mage was the easiest playthrough.

Rogue is the most versatile. Hardest to use, but most rewarding when efficient with.

Funny you mention that. I'm on my 4th playthrough as well and have only played Nightmare mode. My last playthrough was with a 3 mage party and so far it was the easiest. 4 words - Storm of the Century.

Yeah, mages had both crowd control and awesome damage. Although in Awakening Warriors probably became the best, or at least as good as Mages.

personly i cant make a mind up about the mage and rogue both are good on there own if played right and together, they can not be stop. With a rogue assassin skills and mage freezing/paralysis and misdirection hex there a hard team to beat.

for me

1) Mage: who doesnt like shooting fools with lighting

2) Rogue: they kill you when your not looking

3) Warrior: they like pointly things... yeah...

Hard to say, I have only played mage, but warrior is good when there is single hard melee target. How ever, when Mage hits spells like "Strom of the Century" with other area spells like earthquake and so on.. There isn't many enemies that survey from that, it's mass destruction.

In order of preference...

1. Rogue is probably the most fun to play and versatile. At high levels, with decent armor and good stats they beat warriors in their own turf- scraps.

2. Mage- at higher levels with a good variety of spells and a fine armor (thanks to arcane warrior), like Battledress of the Provocateur, Diligence or even Warden's, they are incredibly powerful and they have so much to do that you're never bored.

3. Warrior- they are cool to play sure, but generally all they do is move in and exchange blows with the enemy. They have fewer skills and talents therefore less fun things to do with them.

IMO it works like this in the end game given stacked characters:

Best at dealing a spike (a single huge burst of damage):
  • Rogue (4k crits with properly stacked runes/gear/skill/attribute setup)
  • Warrior (Ive broken then 1k mark on a good crit)
  • Mage (Ive done 2-3k damage on mana clashing people but otherwise not really been able to reliably hit for more then 1k using 1 skill)

Best at doing spike AoE (a single huge burst of area damage):
  • Warrior (Massacre is just freaking overpowered if spec'd the right way 900-1200 damage to everything around them)
  • Rogue (AoE Crits with Whirlwind/Double Sweep with the stacked crit gear is pretty good)
  • Mage (Storm of the Century is good but not in the same league as the firs two)

Dont get me wrong while mages are not the best spikers they are useful in a bazillion other ways then warriors/rogues.   The fact that they have so much crowd control and can 1 shot enemy mages with Mana Clash makes them key players in the battle.  I mean being able to LoS (Line of Sight) kill any caster with clash is freaking huge, warrior/rogue cant really do that.  What mages are good for is constant lower area damage to be honest and save-or-die scenarios like cone of cold/shatter setups.

Mage that can summon a dragon would be most powerful. i think. you can get a good worrior to join you, like Alistair. and you can get a good rougue along the way as well.
