Alright first off i'd like to point out i love garrus but i have some serious problems with his apearnce in ME2 and what may happen if he reprises his role as squad member in ME3.
In ME1 garrus was the renegade willing to do anything to get things done and wasn't completley sure of himself so looked to shepard for guidance...
In ME2 garrus was just a link to ME1 who had a short adventure as a vigialante leader and basically disregarded everything he learned from paragon sheps from Dr. heart incident, The only new character devolment was femshep romance

When i first saw garrus i Smiled as he and shep exchanged banter like buds should. And when he joined the crew i was eager to talk to him again between missions....But then the problem became apparent, HE HAD NOTHING TO SAY(less dialagoue than any squaddie it seemed)! Each mission i'd walk down the corridor to the calibrations room hoping for something to say, but no his focus was calibrations and The only real chats i got with him were concerning his loyalty mission and what he did with as a vigilante. I really had no intrest in what he had to say and his loyalty mission seemed to be a repeat of his ME1 loyalty, and seemed to come out with the same lesson i teached him 2 years ago

So here's my point do we really want garrus back as ME3 squadmate if he's going to have even less to say than he did in ME2, Where does the character honsetly have to go? what can he say that will keep us excited each chat between missions. All of his dialagoue concerned what happend between shepards death and revival, but if ME2 picks up with garrus still in the squad what new can he tell us? I think it would be an injustice to his character just to keep him around due to fan demand and have him be nothing more than a romance continuation for femsheps

So what do you think is garrus really worth having back if he has nothing left to say other than his work with calibrations i don't think the character has any where left to goImage IPB

Considering how much ME2 was criticized for lack of dialogue and squad banter, I would think Bioware would take such criticism to heart and expand the dialogue for every character in ME3. Or not.

This. It seems a little like you're assuming Bioware isn't going to change anything, but with the help of the fans, they always seem to deliver to their best ability.

Plus, Garrus is a person. He has a sense of who he is, and Shepard is merely showing him what else is out there. A person can take advice or leave it--he's only, for lack of a better term, human. With the whole paragoning him in ME1, sure, he considers what Shepard has to say. You'll note that his vigilante group made it a point of not hurting innocents--something that Shepard stressed when using the paragon route with Garrus in ME1. To him, he felt he /was/ doing things the right way on Omega, and not the "fast way."

Yes, yes we do. :)

But seriously, if any particular squaddie bugs you or isn't to your taste, you can just not recruit them, or recruit 'n forget, or recruit and get them killed. *shrug* If you want to make sure Garrus isn't in your ME3, knock him off in ME2. Problem solved.

Yes I want Garrus, even if he just stands around and does action hero poses all day long! But I agree with what Pacifien wrote, I'm hoping bioware will improve the amount of dialogue. He might not have said alot but what he did say I found interesting.

I think you are overreacting... He had some serious calibrations to work out and without him who knows what would have happened.

:P

Yes please! I actually want to see what happens to all of the squad mates we've had over both games. Even a cameo would be better than nothing.

Bioware didn't change him in ME2 which is my problem for him returning in ME3, we really knew all we needed to about him but this time around he just had an adventure and wanted revenge. No new real character devolpment
I'd rather remember garrus as the bad ass renegade with a cameo in ME3 than the Boring turian squadmate who said nothing

ME3 will most likley be our last ineractions with these characters, I don't want them ruined
Why not have him play a majior role doing something new so that we can still see him but not as a squadmate like take control of C sec or whatever

I think it's tedious to have a character return just so he/she can return
They need a reason such as miranda quiting cerebrus for further character devolpment

I actually kind of want most of the squad to come back to tell you the truth. Garrus is just one of the biggest ones that I really want to come back.

I understand what the OP is saying. Ash/Kaidan fans really wanted to see their fave in ME2. We got what we wanted...and most of us weren't happy about what we got. A short cameo and an email. You add to the fact that some game imports will have Garrus dead...and his chances of having any meaningful roll in ME3 go down and his chances of a cameo and an email skyrocket.

This this this this this. We want lots and lots of squad dialogue and banter. Who cares if new players to the franchise seem overwhelmed? That's their fault for showing up late. We shouldn't be punished for it <_<

I want him back in ME3 but... I want "talky" Garrus back. He was so unsure and lost in ME1, and ME2 so vengeful and determined. I truly hope in ME3 he finally understands his place in the universe...
Doesn't matter what the press says. Doesn't matter what the politicians or the mobs say. Doesn't matter if the whole country decides that something wrong is something right. This nation was founded on one principle above all else: the requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or the consequences. When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world - "No, you move."

The ones who i can see being back as a squaddie in me 3 are garrus, tali, miranda, jacob and legion. Evryone else seems to have their own **** to do once the mission was finished
