Do I want Garrus to return?

What kind of silly question is that? OF COURSE I DO!

what do you think? he is a part of epic in Mass effect world. he should go to the end no matter what. there are some people who have to remain until everything is over. Tali, Garrus, Liara. they are basic characters who support entire story.

Yes op, I do want Garrus back. But you are absolutely correct in saying that Garrus *seems* to have less dialogue than the others. Maybe it's because we expect more from a buddy of ours, but keep in mind he hadn't seen Shepard in 2 years and had to deal with a lot of crap. I am still not happy about it, but that's as good an explanation as any.

Also, you are right that Paragon players would probably be less happy to see what Garrus has become than those who told him to stay the way he was. While I lean towads the renegade choice in this particular issue, I can understand that it would be frustrating that Garrus ends up ignoring everything Paragon Shepard teaches him in ME1 and 2. So if he is back in ME3, I would hope that our past relationship with him has more effect on his personality. But that seems likely as he was romanceable in ME2, which probably would be imported into ME3, regardless of whether he is a squad member or not (unless they kill him off).

Of course I want Garrus back, and I am with the op, Garrus with more dialog. Too many waisted trips down to talk with him, only to get the "calibrations talk". I feel like such a chick when it comes to Garrus. Why wont you just talk to me ?

On a side note. I'm rather proud of the way "vigilante" Garrus turned out, and how he spent the last two years. My Shepard was always a paragon, but did offer some renegade advice when talking with Garrus in ME1. My motto with him is sorta like that of a violent Gandhi. Be the change that you want to see in the world (or rather galaxy in this case). And if that means raising the body count, so be it. It's just like Joker said, he has finally removed that stick out of his ass and is now willing to beat you with it. I couldn't be more proud of my little Garrus if I tried.

Yeah I mean we are talking one of the only strong bridges from ME1 that you can trace to ME2 besides Tali.

They done junked Kaiden... and they sure as hell snapped Miss-goodie-two-shoes-Alliance-hack Williams out of the deal ---

So hell yes Garrus should return, hell, he should be there for the final countdown too!

I agree with the points the OP brings up, because Garrus had far too little to say. But I still want him to return in ME3 but I really hope Bioware improves the character interaction. Same goes for Tali, because if you don't romance her, which I don't since I only play femSheps, she has almost as little to say as Garrus.

Wow, threaaaaad neeeecrooomancyyyy...

I'd like him back; the sheer number of people I've pissed off in ME2 means I'm guaranteed to be stabbed in the back sometime in ME3. I'd like someone like Garrus to watch my back. Unless the things you tried to teach him (as a Paragon) had no effect, and he ends up betraying you. On second thought, that should happen. Nobody'll see that coming.

Awesomeness of Garrus cannot be explained in any words.

Simply put, I will kill to have him return in ME3, even if that means I have to kill a cute little kitten and and a puppy.

OK, maybe not.

But seriously, he's basically the only person Shepard could trust no matter what. You don't see that in anyone else on the team, maybe Tali, but only to a borderline extent IMO.

Yes.

According to Xette's survey, three out of four people want Garrus back for ME3. And that number may be higher but the voters could only pick their top five, so if he was like someone's sixth or seventh choice, still very far from the bottom of the list, that wouldn't count for that particular survey.

I had a very large problem with the lack of dialog, with all squad members. But that doesn't mean Garrus shouldn't return. I really hope he's back for ME3.

I'll make it simple. Yes, I really do want Garrus in ME3 in some pretty darn substantial way.

Even though he didn't talk much in ME2, I liked him a lot better than in ME1. I actually don't care for him at all in ME1, but in the second game I marveled at how funny and witty he had become. If he stays like that I'll take Garrus on my team anytime.

He was good for what he did, Thanix Cannon, but his lack of dialogue and not fitting a needed niche...

Miri's bringing the bod. Jack is bringing the psycho. Grunt is bringin tank. Legion is bringin the Bender. Joker is bringin the funny. Tali is bringin the loli (eeeewwww...) or the hot college freshman dating her dad (again... eeeewwww). Chackwas is bringin the normal. Thane is bringin the cool. Kasumi is bringin the mystery. Jacob is bringin the prize. Mordin is bringin the mad scientist. Morinth is bringin sexy sexy death. Samar is bringin the magic. Even kelly has a role as the doormat.

What does Garrus bring... an almost sheppard Turian? Granted he's a better choice than jacob, imo. But, he's no rapper... His lack of any kind of bro-banter beyond one boot knockin story really makes him the weakest character in me2 which is saying volumes when he's in a race against jacob for the role.

If they bring him back in ME:3D, he'd better reveal himself as the Turian grand poo-bah that's been slumming with Sheppard as part of his training to rule. But is considering giving up the highest position in Turian space to continue his perceived bromance with said subject. And as a result he spontaneously changes sex so he can start up a valid romance dialogue tree, but he's embarrassed so really only Kasumi knows, cuz she hears everything.

Then I'd be all: Garrus is the shiznit bringin the 1980's gender comedy and should be back for ME4!!!

Yes, I do want Garrus back (I even have a support fabulous Garrus for the lolz, because I highly doubt BW would put Omega's batman in pink XD)

And he does need to talk a bit more. Unless there might be a ME2 future DLC on him?? :o (but I prefer if he had a bigger impact and dialogue with Garrus in ME3, assuming you kept him alive unless they make him zombie garrus)

Yea, I do. Continuing story arcs make for good storytelling.

I want to finish this game, and see my favorites expanded upon. Not much of a trilogy if every game has a completely new cast of people.

It needs to be what most good stories are; a combination of continuous characters, and new ones.

...but...but... it's GARRUS. He helped bring down Sovereign, he helped bring down the Collectors, and he's sure as hell gunna help bring down Harbinger (unless you got him killed, but seriously, who the hell would let that happen? I mean, c'mon...).

I'm 21. The character is 24.  And I am quite positive my age is not the minority of gamers.

Personally, yeah, I'd like Garrus back, but it's not something I'd be losing sleep over if it didn't happen. On that note I'd like to say that I think it's highly unlikely that we'll see anything more than a few cameos out of the ME2 squad, if they lived that is. I don't even think that we'll have any of the old squad back either. I don't see that as a bad thing though.

If someone needs to be a squadmate in all three games, better Garrus than Tali.

Garrus is Shepard's best friend and is probably the most reliable squad mate (he is a good squad leader during the suicide mission)... So YES I want to see him in ME3 !
But I must admit that I was disappointed by the lack of dialogues between Shepard and him in ME2.

Hmm... I didn't use Garrus to bring down Sovereign. I used Wrex and Liara and sometimes Ashley and Tali... Garrus spent most of the time on the Normandy fixing the mako.
