I'm actually suspecting something similar. I'm not really sure how much further Garrus can be developed as a character, but my prediction for ME3's plot has him and Ambassador Orinia attempting to convince the Hierarchy that the Reapers are real. I'd imagine he'll be on the team for a few missions on Palaven, but mostly being an NPC until the epic final battle in which every surviving squadmate fights.

In any case, he needs to be in the game in a fairly major role. He doesn't necessarily need to be a squad member, but he has to be there. He's Garrus, dammit!

Yes, we want him, we need him, and by God Bioware please let us have him.

I just completed Mass Effect 2 ( I only own a PS3 ) and I took and instant liking to his character. I really hope they bring him back for the next one only because it would be a shame to only be able to enjoy his story for one game and then nothing.

he must return i would have a serious problem with the game if him and ashley dont return
