Hmmm.

For some reason I always think of them with barriers, even the generic-guy-with-an-assault-rifle ones.  The oly oens I remember having shields are the "heavies" who shoot those damn homing rockets at me, and the Engineers.  My memory may be faulty, though.  Or maybe those are just the only ones who's protection survives long enough to notice, LOL - a few pops from an assault Rifle or Locust can burn through the defences on grunts awfully fast.  A shotgun blast from close range (though not my style, personally) can almost one-hit them.  *le shrug*

Most low level eclipse grunts have shields too. its basically blood pack and collectors where its ineffective.

Does Ed benefit from the adept class passive cooldown bonus?

Yes.

It has been tested by at least two sets of people I know of, and no matter what it says in the description ("reduces the cooldown of your tech/biotic powers"), it actually applies to all powers.  Ironically, this also makes classes like Adept and Sentinel better than Soldiers are spamming "combat" type Advanced Training skills like, notably, Flashbang Grenade.

EDIT:  Though... really... when you have godmode Adrenaline Rush, what on earth else would you want to spam?

It's only Samara's recruitment that has Eclipse mostly in Barriers. In other levels, they are mostly Shielded.

What classes would we recommend ED for?

Soldier - yeah

Sentinel - Definitely

Adept - yes, maybe

Engineer - no

Infiltrator - yeah.

Everything except the engineer seems like... really...really... good... for a power.

I have to say that i like ED much better than reave. tech upgrades are much easier to get, and, well, I just don't like Reave I suppose.

I didn't read this entire thread so this may have been mentioned, but you can put shield drain on any class and turn it into a Warp Explosion initiator. Just bring a Warper (Miranda) and a Puller (Jacob/Jack). You do need a a couple levels of tech power damage, but that's not really a problem.

I make use of it here:

ok. here's a question. Some enemies have armor, but it is like TECH armor they. So when you ED a blue sun, or eclipse engineer, that visually has TECH armor, and has an armor lifebar - does it restore your shields? In the video above ramsenC zapps blue sun commander at about 1.50 that clerly has tech armor, ant he immideatly get his barrier restored? is just timing, or the effect of ED?

From memory its just the health bar above them, not the visual component, that dictates what defences they have active. though usually they both coincide, you can tell the difference from the weapon effects that gunfire create when you shoot an enemy.
