I'm wondering why so many people say the soldier is great. My first playthrough was with a soldier which I liked a lot in ME1 and I had my ass kicked so many times for some reason. I played a Sentinel afterwards and it was so much easier in comparison. Then I played an Infiltrator and it also was way easier than with the soldier. And I wasn't even handling the Infiltrator too well I guess. So I'm really interested why exactly the soldier is considered to be such a good choice by so many people here.
I was playing the higher difficulties with imported saves in ME1 so replaying as a soldier was my only option. I imported my level 60 ME1 soldier into level 5 Vanguard and that works good on hardcore. Started out on insanity but the pace was too slow stripping defences so turned it down.

Both classes are made of cheese, once they are fully skilled up have access to almost permanent slowmotion.
