Does Geralt have a beard?

He has a pony tail, and we all know ponytail wins over beard. :wizard:

Only on women.

The only men who should have ponytails are high school art teachers and grad school mathematics students.

Aww no fencing teacher?

Geralt would win. That dude personifies bamf. Hawke is just another silly bloodmage with a beard.

I like to think they would pass each other and just kind of do the nod of acknowledgement. The Warden too. They could also all get drunk together and gripe about the errands people seem to dump on them and the pressures of heroism and things.

you know at the candlekeep website, they prefer to avoid such threads,as it would be up to the writer.

Implying that Lady Hawke wouldn't find Geralt's horrible pick up lines annoying and sick Varric on him.

Both games are ripe for mutual easter eggs if you ask me. For some reason I can see Sten as a Barkeep in TW2.
He and Geralt could have the dullest and shortest conversations imaginable.

That's a really... exotic opinion. Most of the people think that Blood Magic is great, with the Blood Sacrifice and all that. I have to confess that this spec was really useful to me. But I'm getting off-topic, sorry.

IN TOPIC:

If I'm not wrong, there is a "Wolf of Rivia" in DA: O, and Geralt sometimes is called of white wolf? I'm almost sure I read about that yesterday.

This is actually tough one. If we put Hawke and Geralt on equal grounds, it will be a tough match. Both highly skilled swordfighters and can do magic.

Geralt is a mutant, his speed and reflexes exceed any normal human, his job is hunting monsters and demons (and ladies :) ), mostly ALONE. His magic "signs" are simple but fast and effective: just point your hand and shoot. He also uses a LOT of alchemic potions to enhance his abilities even further.

Hawke is just a human (I think) so his starting point is weaker and slower, but has very strong magic. And also potions to enhance his abilities much like Geralt.

I think my vote would go Geralt in the end unless Hawke manages to pull some of his stronger magics on him. On all out one-on-one melee where he cannot concentrate on stronger magics, I think Geralt wins in the end.

Well considering that Hawke needs a Party of heroes to help him, and Geralt is the medieval chuck norris I would go for Geralt. But you never know ;)

This could be interesting, all in all, but my bet is on Hawke. Blood Magic is very quite powerful in DA: O, and as I've experimented with, can basically control anything that has blood at all in it, boil it, or any number of uses. Taking into account Hawke's strong magic vs. Geralt's comparably quicker, but weaker magics, Hawke is shown to be at least good in melee combat, though Geralt is better in that area.

I'd say it would be a near close battle, and ultimately the winner would be Hawke; blood mages always typically outstand and outlast a lot more than your typical mage can. The only thing iffy about it would be dependant on Hawke's 'accessory' equipment, really.

Assuming he has something to enhance his blood magic and make it take less 'blood' than it normally would, I would clock in Hawke as finishing the fight, but being severely weakened after beating Geralt. So if he -- or she -- were to fight Geralt, afterwords a much needed rest would be immediately called for.

So in the end, very close fight. Could really end either way. Hawke and Geralt can take a good deal of punishment, but ultimately Blood Magic would give Hawke the upper hand in outlasting his or her opponent.

At least, that's my view on things.

Whoever the writer says will win. Nothing else matters. Whatever constants you are trying to apply to the scenario to ascertain a conclusion using logic and reason will be thrown out the window for the sake of plot or dramatic effect.

I don´t think they would even fight.

If they do and Geralt has his potions at hand the fight is his, no matter what Hawke has. And if Hawke wins then Yennefer will have his skin. Literally.

In a way i agree with that be we must not forgot that Geralt uses potions. Mostly his combat and magic abilities are being boosted greatly with those. Blizzard alone is one hell of a potion to begin with and Geralt has a shield ability too.

Its really an 50-50 fight in my eyes.

If we're pitting cinematic trailer Hawke against cinematic trailer Geralt, I think Hawke's "rip the enemy in two with huge demonic hands" beats Geralt's "magical fart that propels enemy backwards" any day of the week.

Geralt have dealt with much more powerful wizards such as Vilgefortz or Azar Javed. You people really sure that his Quen sign is THAT pathethic againts common magic? I think not.

Please don't give Hawke a bad image, that means making him some kind of super-indestructible-hulk who kills with his sight.

then Yennefer will have his skin. Literally.

And expect Ciri to appear out of nowhere(literally) and skin the poor chap alive too. Also literally. :o

That's as silly as asking: Who wins: My fallout 3 character or Hawke and Geralt combined (hint: I shoot them both in the head). You just can't compare different universes with different rules and if you do, then the outcome of such battle is clearly determined how one interpreted such rules and how much biased towards one particular ruleset that individual is. So basically the winner is who you like better.
