Hey guys, I'm hoping someone can help me with a technical problem. I had the toolset installed on my computer when it crashed. I had to re-install Windows and when I did the Toolset came back along with all my other programs I had installed except the Toolset wouldn't run so I uninstalled it and tried to re-install it. When Microsoft SQL Server is installing I get an error.

 The Product SQL Server Database Services tries to install and seems to succeed until it goes to Configure the MS SQL Server. When it tries to start SQL Service: MSSQL$BWDATOOLSET I get the following error:

The SQL Server Service failed to start. For more information, see the SQL Server Books Online topics, " How to: View SQL Server 2005 Setup Log Files" and "Starting SQL Server Manually."
Retry Cancel

Neither of the topics it lists appears to be helpful. Retry results in the same error and Cancel just continues the bad installation which is no help when trying to run the toolset.

I've tried uninstalling everything related to the Toolset and MS SQL and re-installing several times, but every time is the same. I obviously don't mind removing all of the components the Toolset installs to try to get a clean install, but I must be missing something so if no one knows how to fix this problem, does anyone know what I need to remove from my system to get a fresh start for the installer?

I'm having the same exact problem, and i've wasted a good two days trying to fix it. I even got so desperate as to format and reinstall..... (regretting that decision now) cause it still won't work, same error. I'm begging someone to help out with this
