I used to play NWN1 around 5 or 6 years ago... I loved to play on servers where good and mature roleplay was necessary; and create storylines, fun gatherings, adventures, even wars... Coming back to online gaming not longer than an year ago, I found that roleplay literally died in all of them. The few enviroments where they claim there is roleplay, you find scarce lousy attempts at it, at best...


I do miss the old times (before WoW), and I come back to NWN looking to maybe start a group/guild or even take part on a server/world I don't know, where MATURE, FRIENDLY AND REAL ROLEPLAY is the main goal. Where there are adults who really want to have fun by making interesting characters with realistic personality, and insert them on deep and carefully written stories where there can be adventure, action, romance, terror, humor or anything else that suits you. (All free of teenage griefers, OOC grumpies, mary sue characters, or unfriendly old-timers)


I also have NWN1 with all expansions... I wonder, though, is there such a thing surviving still in NWN? Or people who feel the same and would like to bring it back to life? Feel free to IM me or email me (contact on profile)

A PW, a guild or a DM'd campaign.. I'd go for anything really where there is roleplay... Hence the post, hoping I'll be informed of any of those things happening, or like-minded people willing to start something.

Given how the MP side of NWN2 came into being and developed over the past four years, it is not surprising that almost all MP efforts are of a PW nature.

In fact, as far as I am aware, the only ongoing DMed campaign is my Northern Cormyr game.  Linked below and posted in this section of the forum.  Open to receiving PMs or posts of interest always.

I'm also searching for anything really hard core in Roleplay term to play. I mean, as said Haley, it's really great to make a character grow, try to make him real, an to live his life as if we were living our own. It's something many RPGs are missing at the moment (NWN and NWN 2 excluded, of course)

If somebody has a proposition, I'll take anything.

 If you're looking for a PW with really high RP standards, give Dammendrech a try. It's not a Forgotten Realms world if you're looking for that, but otherwise an extremely likable and immersive world with plenty of great roleplayers.

Truth be told that is correct, although Venture may still be running his.

I will be starting an Oriental Adventures DM'd campaign this Fall.

@Sayuko - Also sent you a PM. We hardcore RPers should stick together if we are ever to give birth again to our fun and friendly dictatorship of immersive roleplay throughout online RPG games.

There's probably a generational thing at the heart of this problem. Today's generation has grown up on XBox, Wii, Playstation. My generation grew up on table top RPGs like D&D.

As time goes on, the numbers just don't favor the "hard core, mature" role play style, and players seeking that kind of style either get dispersed across the myriad of servers out there or get discouraged and give up looking. :/

Haley (and anyone else reading this who might be interested) - it is worth noting that while I am always open to adding new players to the existing group, I am also open to putting together a completely different group, on a different game schedule, should there be demand and agreeable dates/times worked out.

So, considering all those remarks, including these last two, I'm willing to create such a guild for heavy/hardcore roleplayers who want to stick together as a group...



This group would be a gathering of such scarce like-minded people who, looking for heavy roleplay by themselves, would easily feel discouraged and get dispersed as çiphér noted..



In there we could schedule roleplay in story-driven PWs, start DMed campaigns, or even make up our own RP setting for a non-RP PW (in case we find none) to play there as a group, simply using the existing physical scenario for our needs.

You know, I'm only 16, and I grew too on PS3 and such.
But that doesn't make me closed to other game types. The main problem with the new RPG software is that it is too easy or too much adapted to PS3, X360 and such.

Personnally, I prefer hardcore ^^

I joined up. Not sure if any of you are available for European evenings to play but that is typically my time. Perhaps between 10AM-3 PM CET time would work as well from Monday to Friday.

@ mr. adar: well, that's exactly what I tried to do.. We tried to pull a NWN2 / NWN1 RP guild, but didn't work out as players in the topic lost interest...

Some players at Gamers With Jobs forums just bought NWN2 in the December 2010 steam sale. We're trying to raise interest in DM'd campaigns there.
