David Gaider is an epic writer.
Everytime you use improper grammar an elderly English teacher dies.

I must have taken our half the English department single-handedly by now...

You just killed a teacher with that post.

Not my fault the New York education system failed me.

That's how Mr. Browning died?  I heard he hung himself.

I like Gaider. He's a good writer. My only critism was that the main story was not that good in DAO but everything else was good, keep up the good work Gaider!

I was hoping it would be someone else. No one specific though, certainly not Ms. Pino from CFB-ISD *cough*

I remember thenemesis77 when he was whining about Hawke and the changes in DA2. :) That he won't be able to play as his Warden again, and Hawke won't be his character, stuffs like that.

A nice change he went through :)

He does not beat Valve's Marc Laidlaw, though.

And here I was just about to send him a PM about that. Seems to be a hard thing to correct...

...

By the sodding stone, do you really want English Teachers below elderly to start dying too?! I swear, that post probably killed like, fifty elderly English teachers in one go. D:

The ancestors would be ashamed. So very ashamed. Still, I agree with the sentiment of the OP: David Gaider really is one of my favorite, and an epic writer. I just hope DA2 continues the wonderful story he has written so far.

i don't read books centered around games because mostly these are very plain, boring and filled with clichès. the online reviews about "the stolen throne" and "the calling" are sounding similar. seems like david gaider horribly fails as a writer of novels.

Congratulations for derailing a thread about the writers being awesome into english teachers dying because of bad grammar:wizard:

On topic I think all the writer's did a great job and while the main story of origins was a bunch of generic crap the side stories (except the circle quest but that's a rant for another time) and Awakening's story was really good.

I hope they keep doing as good stories as we've had this far.

I haven't read either of the novels, but in his defence writing a novel and writing a video game are two completely different talents and skill sets. Most novel writers would make absolutely apalling game writers, or at least writers of a game like DA where the player designs the character. Games that have a fixed protagonist and a set plot would be easier for a novel writer (which is not to say that msot of them don't sport terrible plot and characterisation anyhow). Different media.

Regarding, DA though, David is an awesome writer. However, Mary Kirby, Sheryl Chee and the other writers are equally awesome. Mary wrote Sten after all, and Sten is *golden*, even if he does think the Warden is a unicorn.

Gaider, as the lead writer, shaped a world so believable and immersive that it has the capability of sparking nerdrage up to 7 on the Richter scale. Say what you want about his writing, very few writers can inspire the same sort of fanatical devotion to the characters and worlds they create.

Gaiders epicness is about the same level as a master ninja with wings, only slightly below that of robot unicorns.
