I will say it again, DAO is the best computer game ever. The writing is a BIG part of that. I experienced my own transformation similar to (but not quite as epic) as OP's. Part of the reason so many people went off about the changes in DA2 was that DAO was so !@#$%! great. I mean, if they made a POS and then changed stuff in POS2, who would really care?

Congratulations for derailing a thread about the writers being awesome into english teachers dying because of bad grammar:wizard:

On topic I think all the writer's did a great job and while the main story of origins was a bunch of generic crap the side stories (except the circle quest but that's a rant for another time) and Awakening's story was really good.

I hope they keep doing as good stories as we've had this far.

Yeah I really liked the story in Awakening actually. It gave more depth to the Darkspawn and I actually felt like a Grey Warden doing what a Grey Warden does - Rooting out Darkspawn.

And I think the coolest Disciple would have to be The Lost(simply cause of that Infernal Golem) or The Seeker(not in the game but he was the one to cause Velanna to go bat**** insane.)

This.

Personally they write my favourite game dialogue.

So what would be an example of the level of maturity you would prefer, and what elements of DA2 were trying to be too serious mature?

Right, because movies can run full gamut from slapstick comedy to drama, but games can't.

Mediate very much big busters. Mystlical melons.

David Glider writes character like supposed to be Roman Polanski Jewish man piano hell movie. Not, video game sex with squid lady's in sex gear, save universe bang bang. Ridiculous come across very much. Valve much better self aware video game, Portal, Halfife 2, big superior, very big, probably the biggest.

The film examples you used are both excellent, highly regarded films. You must rate the team highly to compare them to such works.

BioWare said they are not done with Morrigans story, so you might still get that ending bro.

That has what exactly to do with your complaint a game that isn't ME2 attempts to be serious?

Yes, some games are silly and over the top. It doesn't mean some games can't be more serious than that. Just like existence of silly and over the top blockbuster movies don't prevent other movies from being serious. And oddly  no one is crying "oh what the hell you think you're doing Spielberg, Raiders of the Lost Ark weren't serious at all, wtf is this Schindler's List all qq and drama?"

I'll point out that I have nothing to do with Mass Effect. I am the lead writer for the Dragon Age project, not the lead writer for BioWare.

As some have pointed out, I have a team of writers that work with me to create the story and the dialogue, but I'll happily accept any compliments on behalf of the group. All the writers who worked on Origins are back for DA2, so I'm sure the particular style we use should be recognizeable to you all. Hopefully you like what we've cooked up for you. B)

There was no point, just display of personal narrow-mindedness regarding what you think games should be like. One you can't even justify when pressed on it.

Sten: Cookies?

It's awesome that it's the same team working on DA2, that alone pretty much guarantee's the quality of the dialogue in my opinion, you guys did some great work with DAO. A lot is made about how the Origins are what made that game so replayable, but if anything for me it was the fact I kept coming across more clever dialogue depending on my actions.
