I just wanted everyone to know that the old mod by Wyrmlord123 has a new home.
For those who do not remember this, here is his original post:
"Recently, I tried Improved Anvil v5.0, after having enjoyed the earlier versions when the mod was still largely an item upgrade type mod. I was frustrated by the extremely difficult and unfun encounters that are required to access most of the item upgrades and the lack of options when installing the mod.
In response I have made this Improved Anvil Lite v5.0 for my personal use which lets the user choose to install any of the kits or the items as separate components. Most of the items required for upgrades should be available for sale at the Adventure Mart.
The kits included are the Riskbreaker, Vagrant, and Auramaster kits.
Feel free to download, enjoy, modify and do whatever you want with the mod. I don't lay any claim to the mod content, and since it is hosted on rapidshare the link will die out eventually"
It can now be downloaded here (no premium membership required).

Ah, thanks. Not much interested in IA, but the kits were very interesting, albeit a bit overpowered. Being able to install the kits without the other components of the mod is very nice.
EDIT: Just had a look at the kits. Did i really say 'a bit overpowered'? The only kit that beats them is the Geomantic Sorceror, and then only in endgame. You really want to play with SCS(II) on insane if you plan on using these kits. Also, i'm not sure about the compatability of the item upgrades with other item upgrade mods.
Another EDIT: Right. Apparently this mod was released without Sikret's consent (should have known this, tbh). Whether or not you like Sikret: it's not nice to hijack someone else's product and then make unauthorized changes. Steer clear of this one.

Everything is a choice.
If people want to download and play this mod, they should.
I find the kits extremely overpowered, and if I made this mod to my taste, I would simply remove all the munchkin kits needed to survive the full version of the Improved Anvil mod.
The only reason I did not, is because I did not create the original mod.
I would go into a long discussion on how item randomizers existed before he crated them, as did an upgrade mod, as did kit mods, and how carefully worded selling of mods is a big no-no but it would be a waste of time. All sides have their feelings on the subject and neither side truly considers the other's point of view, they just wait for the other side to post so they can make another long winded post.
Basically if you want to lay some overpowered kits, or have different items in your game without all the no-cheating, and tactical "enhancements" provided by the full version of Improved Anvil, you should download this mod.
Should anyone wish to flame me and attack me for hosting this mod, feel free to do it on my forum. I do not have rules against such things like this forum.

I'm not going to attack or flame you. Apologies if i gave that impression. I just think it's really not done to hijack a mod this way, regardless of what my opinion on Sikret or IA might be. But that's just me. Feel free to use this mod if you don't have any objections.

Meh, being an internet veteran has given me thinker skin then that, Flamedance.
For the record, either of the posts you have made on this thread would not be considered trollish even on The Attic.
Comments like mine tend to start flamewars, and my post was addressed to those who love/need net-drama.
While I respect your views on respecting other people's intellectual property, in this case I simply disagree.
Of course now I am tempted to find something you disagree with, just to start a topic on that because debating could be a lot of fun.

Wasn't Sikret the guy who had that war aginast the G3 fixpack? Does this mean that the individual components will have have the same incompatibililties?
Say what you will about the battles in IA, but it really is a diamond experience for the BG veteran.

Yep, that was/is him. Don't get me started on that. Not sure whether the individual components are compatible with the Fixpack. IA itself isn't. I remember playing an Auramaster loooong ago, when it was still available as a separate component. That was compatible with the Fixpack, iirc. But that's years ago and my memory might be faulty.
IA is ok if you like tactical battles. Personally, i'm an avid chess player, so i like that sort of battles. The massive amount of cheese ("IA doesn't cheat" Riiight) as well as the constant reloading till you finally found the one 'good' solution did get to me in the end. But i have to admit quite a few of the battles were really well designed. The battle with the rakasja god right before the fight with Mel is one of the best battles ever designed in a computer game, imo.
