If cinematic means interactive cut-scenes like ME1 and ME2, I would say yes. I'm not trying to make a judgement call on whether those games are true rpg's. And maybe someone else can tell me if I'm way off base and other rpg's have done the same thing. I can't think of any, however.
Let me be clear on this. I loved this aspect of the ME games, but if paraphrasing isn't meant to be accurate in both TW2, and DA2, I'm not sure I'll be too happy. Of course, we're all just speculating here.

Personally I've never had any trouble reading the dialogue either. That isn't even the issue, the dialogue doesn't change to fit the symbols, the symbols fit where the dialogue goes. Bioware games always use a scale of good through neutral to evil for the most part, and everything the devs have said indicates that this system will be much better than the somewhat blunt one (at times) seen in ME.

Oghren and Morrigan weren't really homophobes. Oghren was just an ass and Morrigan was to jealous to share anything with anyone. I like (oh you bet I like) to think that if Lelianna had been more tactful in her approach Morrigan would have been smitten.

I am kind of a guy who likes to say No. But I am not axe-crazy. So if this Blood mage comes along seeking redemption I say to her that her crimes can not be redeemed. But that does not mean I want to chop her tongue off too! I will rather want her to keep on trying to make things better henceforth. I don't want sudden "exciting" new turns at the cost of sanity.

Aye. I don't understand why we can't have the dialogue system in DA:O AND a VA.
The dialogue wheel is a huge improvement, that is why DA2 wont be using the dialogue system that was in Origins. Anyone who doesnt agree with me is either a troll or a crybaby who is afraid of change.
I really like how when we pick an option we have no idea what our character is going to say or do, it makes the game more exciting kinda like a box of chocolates where you never know what you are going to get. Picking the "I think Samesh should hear this" option is much more exciting when you find out that Shepard actually collar grabs the person he is talking to and threatens him with violence, sure it may not of been what you intended Shepard to do but then if you were expecting him to do that it wouldnt be a surprise now would it?

I suppose. A little tear here, a little rip there to show some skin. I

Silk. No, maybe velvet. Velvet is heavier, better to guard against the
cold in Ferelden. Dark red velvet, yes. With gold embroidery. It should
be cut low in the front of course, we don't want to hide your features. - Morrigan: Stop looking at my breasts like that. Tis most disturbing!
- Leliana: You don't think so? And if it's cut low in the front we must put your hair up to show off that lovely neck.
- Morrigan: You are insane. I would sooner let Alistair dress me.
- Leliana: It'll be fun, I promise! We'll get some shoes too! Ah, shoes! We could go shopping together!
But what if I want to play as a Homophobe? Will I get a chance to roleplay like that?

There might have to be some in game lore justifications for it. Zevran does mention that Fereldan isn't as 'open' as Antiva and I imagine the same would be true of the Free Marshes. Homophobia doesn't seem as big in Thedas as racism does.

Kinda like The Pearl experience. You ask for a little bit of "both" and you are in for a surprise. Unfortunately, when you do realize what you got yourself into, it's too late.

I don't think the writer's wanted that particular scene to come across as homophobic. It seemed like Morrigan just didn't care for Lelianna's advances. She was very forward and creepy about the whole thing and their relationship up to that point hadn't been very friendly. Maybe Lelianna was just trying to bridge a gap and in her enthusiasm didn't quiet hit the mark. I'm sure the kind of women she's used to dealing with have very little in common with Morrigan.

I'd always thought that Leliana was just trying to be friendly with that whole line. If she was indeed hitting on meh Morrigan Im afraid I will have to let her die naow in subsequent playthroughs.

Well, I played the game in a different language, and the dialogue option asked for "a little bit of both." I am now guessing in English version it's the "surprise me" option. Either way, the outcome is surprising indeed. Not sure I want to be "surprised" like that again though.
