heyas;

  i can find fixes for when this happens in the full game, but i'm stumped as to why my module can't load its starting area.  any ideas?  checking in, checking out, building, exporting, anything!?!?  is there some magic voodoo i forgot to do to get this to work?

i have--
1. put the starting point in the area
2. gone to manage modules: properties, and set the starting area/waypoint to the area/waypoint.
3. checked in the area (no difference from when it is checked out)
4. created a module start script that has the create/import character stuff on it -- note: all that part is working correctly.

   i had the area loading when i had a copy exported to the override.  but that was when i was trying to use that to run a cutscene from the command line option.  (this is a cutscene module, for making machinima.)  why would an old copy in the override work, but not an updated area saved from the toolset?  (once the override version was deleted.)

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!

thank yoU!

You have to have a version in the 'override' folder, or somewhere else the game can read it.

The toolset saves things in a database that only the toolset uses. You have to export things from this database (by doing right click on resource -> export without dependent resources) because this basically gets the information from the database and puts it in a file for the game.

This may be a good read:

Actually, information about the module is exported any time you export anything else. :)
