Nice new web server browser for NWN 1 & 2 games @ MyGameIQ.com

Anyway, some time after Skunk's message I tried to find any site doing similar live reporting for NWN and really couldn't. But a digital distribution/online gaming site called MyGameIQ.com was doing very barebones stats at the time so I wrote to them asking to add at least player totals for each server (at the time it just listed server names & IP's). I didn't expect they'd implement the changes.
Well I went back this morning and not only have they implemented the players-per-server information, it looks like they've got all the information possible from the GameSpy masters about each server.
NWN 1
NWN 2
The links are finicky so you may get errors if you use links other than the ones above.
You can sort by Host Name, IP Address, Port, Players and Map. But (for me) an even nicer feature is if you click on the Host Name, another page comes up with all the information about that server possible from the GameSpy master server, including the Server's Description which you'd normally need to be in-game to see, IIRC.
Anyway, thought some might be interested in that. The site's in Beta right now so expect bumps but I still thought that was cool of them to do for us. If you find yourself using it regularly, might be nice to kick 'em a note of thanks for going through the trouble.

All we want are simple web based stats fro the server without needing to clog up our PCs with more adware and clunky appware.

I also think it adds to a client side lag in some machines.kenween wrote...
I don't like Xfire. You actually have to register to use it. And worst of all, it's forces you to install an additional IM chat program. It's not needed.

Errors on both links and browsing their list of games NWN isn't listed at all.

You don't need to log in at all and dont need the program for just checking a servers status on the X-fire webb.
This is the webb based stat page for our server:

I don't think so. At least not much. If you're having problems with lag in NWN I am guessing you have more serious problems with your computer or internet.TSMDude wrote...

If you are using a never version of windows than XP you might have such problems (like windows vista or seven).
X-Fire is made to work with shooter games as well...so it is not really that taxing on the system.

can we actually join any of the games listed without installing xfire..?
it's just that gameranger lets u see all the server lists and join games - the gameranger client install may be a lot tinier, more simple and is completely adware free.
the screenshots for xfire make it look like one of those big corporation things........

No. You need to have X-Fire installed to make it automatically start the game and join the server when you press the join game button.kenween wrote...

Still...like I showed...you can browse a server on the webb and browse most of the X-Fire website without having it or even being logged in.
I didn't know about gameranger. Looks cool. I like tiny application also. I also use Steam which is really streamlined and tiny and most importantly has built in support for some games.kenween wrote...

I am pretty sure X-Fire is bigger than Gameranger though. So you probably have more NWN people in total in X-Fire than in Gameranger. Also I am sure X-Fire has more functions and is probably a better application all in all. It doesn't have more ad-aware than any other application.
What screenshots? You mean the commercials? Yeah sure...they are a bit irritating....but please tell me if you find any other place on the webb where you can get live NWN server status without having to log in or install anything.kenween wrote...

(ie: no leftover processes in the taskbar)
And yes. Naturally X-Fire can be turned of....doh. It is not a Microsoft application *irony*....
