"Thedas is the central character of the DA franchise". I can see our decisions from game to game, including DLC and expansions, building into one awesome whole. That could go over 5 games with different character perspectives in each.

I think, like Dave, the personality tracker is probably my favourite. I'm really looking forward to how it plays out in the game.

Framed narrative. I'm super-excited about the plot, it really seems like they're using sophisticated storytelling techniques that you don't get all that often in video games.

The lack of Morrigan and/or my Wardens godbaby with her.

The framed narrative offsets my disspapoint with this though. ^_^

This. Maintaining canon is my obsession, to the exclusion of all other game aspects.

A different perspective on a great and fascinating world.

And: Finishing moves for mages is something I am very curious about.

 Voice acting.

Though I would have been fine with the PC showing emotion during scenes other than that weird :o face during the joining, but voice acting covers that and more.

The setting. I've always loved city adventures, and by the sounds of things, much of DA2 is going to take place in Kirkwall. That was one of the few areas in which DAO was the lacking - we didn't get to see enough of Denerim.

I'll seperate this into two categories since I view them as very different: gameplay and story.

Story: It's the same writing team and a Bioware story. The Framed Narrative is very cool.

Gameplay: There's honestly a ton, but I'd have to say the nonlinear progression of talents/spells. We don't know a lot yet but being able to skip certain abilities and upgrade them makes me VERY excited.

Hawkes beard!

Next to that the 10 year storyline if done right. ... oh and the personality tracker (if by that people mean the way the game will see how you respond over time and then adjust your generic responses to match - that sounds really cool as it will mean the game will react to how you play your character ... which in turn makes the character more YOUR character).

Not being a Grey Warden is nice, I would like to have the option to live a long life and die surrounded by fat grandchildren this time around.

The framed narrative sounds very interesting, I'm hoping this is in fact a positive. I would hate to finish the game and find out that the story I just went through was a big fat lie...

I'm still waiting for the information that will make me REALLY excited, though. Tell me that there is even more dialogue, exploration, and quests that involve thinking and puzzles, and I'll pre-order immediately.

You know, I'm glad you asked this, because now that I think about it, there's a lot of things I'm excited for.

Personality tracker is probably the thing I'm most curious for, but also seeing how the intent icons will work out, the framed narrative--specifically the ability to hear the outcomes of your decisions before the end of the game, and hear reactions and so on, having a family is going to be cool, experiencing the world for ten years, and seeing how that--hopefully--affects relationships, platonic or otherwise, watching what happens to the Chantry, and also seeing mage finishing moves.
