But how much better would have the Bioshock 2 sp be if they'de used all the resources that went in mp to make sp experience better? No matter how many studios there are developing it. I just hope all the multiplayer talk has nothing to do with ME2 or ME3 or ME universe in general.
I can understand your apprehension if we were talking about switching ME3 over to a first person perspective, but the OP specifically referenced a spin-off game not involving Shepherd's saga. Besides, both Bioshock games got excellent reviews and demonstrate that a FPS can entail a rich backstory, a haunting environment, unique and engrossing gameplay, AND multiplayer aspects. It's really up to the studio to go for that though. I tend to think BioWare would be one of the studios capable of pulling this off.
As alluded to in a previous post, it seems that BioWare is already at work in implementing multiplayer components into ME3. This is where I tend to agree with you in being a little more skeptical regarding taking away development time for the single player. I am half hoping that it's really only supposed to entail adding co-op modes, but I can also see possibilities for a unique, non-deathmatch fragfest competitive multiplayer. Again, it's up to BioWare to not be stupid enough to fall into the same kinds of multiplayer that we find in COD, GOW, and everything else. Obviously, if people wanted to play THAT kind of multiplayer, they would inevitably just go play those games as the gameplay would obviously be better since that is their main priority.
All any of us can do is just hope that BioWare will have the good sense to make multiplayer components of ME3 a unique take on the multiplayer experience. Personally, I choose to believe that they have this kind of good sense until they force me to say otherwise.
