someone was saying that it should have multiplayer, in DA2 i hope it will never happen

see and this is why i say true story based gaming is dying. i may not be a fan of dao but seriously i hate multiplayer. cod mw 1 was a 10 hour campaihn and the rest was bs multiplayer/online crap. seriously gaming needs to go back to its story roots and i believe mass effect is doing that. yes i know me2 felt more shooter instead of half and half rpg but no one can deny the story of the charachters were amazing

Sorry, but hell no at least to making it a full first person shooter with online features.

Whats next for ideas? Mass Effect: Need for Speed? Mass Effect: Command and Conquer? The Sims: Mass Effect? With EA calling the shots I wouldn’t be surprised at any direction they went with a new Mass Effect title just to make some quick money on a cash cow. I shouldn’t have even mentioned those ideas….

This game series already gets a lot of comparisons to a lot of third person shooters for good and bad reasons (usually bad) and to make it a first person shooter would just add to the crap fest arguments that the ME games are nothing but shooter games to be catered only to shooter fans.

Online? I bet you want something used for multiplayer deathmatches and capture the flag games? Go play Halo Reach or something for that please. Games that would do it right as well. You don’t want EA calling the shots with their online gameplans like having you pay to play online like with their Madden games or requiring you to be online to play the game (in single player mode) like with Command and Conquer 4 Tibeium Twilight. We are already getting that crap treatment to a degree with Dragon Age Origins.

If Bioware continues the Mass Effect franchise after ME3 it should follow the same set up the previous games had and that’s a third person perspective RPG/shooter hybrid game. Add an option to have in a first person mode, sure but don’t force it down our throats. The only online feature it should have is a map/mission maker similar to what Bethesda does with their games or maybe if its done right, a co-op play mode where your friends take control of your squad mates.

As much as I enjoy various first person games such as Half Life 2, Oblivion Fallout 3, Jericho and several others one of the things that makes Mass Effect stand out is its third person perspective to give the game a bit more of a movie feel to it. And this is coming from someone who does not like third person games at all.

I'm getting a definite suspicion that you live in America.

If you lived in Japan, you would be absolutely overloaded with RPGs, most of which never come to the West. It's all about the location.

hey darth check out my ideas for spin off mass effect games because i believe each squad mate can become its own spinoff if done right

the following events take place a week after me3

after the events of destruction done by the reapers commander shepard has retired from the alliance military or has died in action, former c-sec officer and shepards favorite turrian shipmate garrus vakarin is honored for his heroic bravery and actions during the reaper invasion, he is then been inducted in the the turrian fleet and becomes captain, garrus who is still shaken up and shattered from the events that occured one week ago he decides to continue shepards legacey by maintaning that heroism or sticking to his renegade turrian needs, garrus reasemmbles the normandy's crew but also brings in some top ranking turrian soilders, they set out to hunt every last one of the reapers down in dark space will they succed or will they fail?

Actually i have both DX and DX:IW. Got the sequel first and thought it was really good (or it least it was once i modded the config to triple all damage). I tried playing DX, and I couldn't make it past the first stage because I couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with a cruise missile. Not because my aim sucks, but because the game decided my aim sucks. That kinda ruins it for me. Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines (criminally underrated) was also a good attempt at that, but again, the guns were so weak even when fully upgraded that it was typically easier to use your powers and melee.

Hopefully the new DX is somewhere between the two.

i came up with one for tali and legion and basicly there both involved in it

with commander shepard out of the alliance military and or dead tali zora and her people return to the quarian homeworld with legion, hoping to rebuild there world legion is now in full charge of the re written geth and he and his new geth help the quarians rebuild, during this time tali zora receives a urgent message from now new turrian captain garrus vakarin, she and legion return to the citadel and are informed, legion who is now loyal and much accepted by the counsile is now allowed to form his own geth army and to stay and allighn his people with tali zora and her people thus leading into a quarian and geth truce and alliance,

This. I completely agree with this. Mass Effect really doesn't seem like it could be designed to be a FPS.

Wasn''t that about co-op?

Co-op would be awesome for both games.

Within the game proper, no. No one wants to stand around while someone else does all the talking. However , if they did a standalone co op, that could be awesome. Imagine playing as a vanguard, Charging in while being supported by an infiltrator and an adept, played by actual human beings? That could be dope. As long as it doesn't negatively affect the SP portion, I'm totally down with that idea.

Well it's trying to merge the RPG mechanic whith the FPS style. Once you upgrade your pistol/rifle/heavy weapons skill or the weopons themselves, you don't need to keep your crosshair on the target that long (the longer you do the more accurate the shot is, having an upgraded gun is basically point and shoot). It maybe akward for someone who expected a strictly FPS experience, but it's actually a pretty good system whitout crap like in Alpha Protocol when headshots aren't always kills.

Well that's what makes it not a shooter in my eyes. Action game? Sure. But not a shooter. I haven't played FO3 personally, but my FPS friends insist it's an RPG that allows first person aiming as opposed to being a shooter.

If blast someone in the face and they shrug it off because I don't have enough skill points to magically increase the damage to lethal levels it irks me. Player skill should determine whether or not the shot hits. The weapon should determine how much damage it does when it hits.
