No doubt it will eventually come to this. EA seems to be willing to make as much ME games while the gamers are still interested. I have no doubt that it was their idea to turn it from a trilogy to a full-blown game franchise.
I didn't say that Bioware would make an ME FPS. EA's got a crapload of studios to do that for them, though I get the feeling that EA is planning to turn the Bioware studios into their Mass Effect/Dragon Age game production mill, with the studio working on TOR being the exception for now.wickedwizzard01 wrote...
Damn Mida.... i hope that you are wrong because the day Bioware turns ME in to a run of the mill FPS shooter
it is game over for them as far as i'm concerned

The franchise is too valuable to leave it at a trilogy. There's so much story still in this amazing universe. It would be a win-win situation for them and the players, if they continued to make great games in it.
Unfortunately, right now it seems to me the next games will be more like the usual mindless action games. Much easier and quicker to produce, and as bizarre as it is, seems to sell better. EA being EA, how could they resist that temptation?
I think you can say the same about other games Bioware has made. Jade Empire had a lot of stuff that could be further explored in another game, but they probably didn't because the game didn't sell as well as they wanted. Now they've got this marketing machine called EA which can make look anything the coolest thing in the universe while it actually is just average or for a niche group. That is where the ME series is eventually gonna end I think if they keep making games for it too long.bjdbwea wrote...

Probably the reason why they've got a new PC for DA2. Bioware maybe wanted to make a sequel out of it, but didn't have any plans to do so. Bioware's strength is (or maybe was) creating an original IP with every game. Dragon Age: Origins was the last IP they've launched and back in the pre-EA days they'd already announced a new game with a new IP already by now.wickedwizzard01 wrote...

BW has stated in an interview on the DA wiki boards(at Gamescon) that they changed the PC because many people had done the US and it was too difficult to bring back the warden in a believable manner for the people who done the US
Ah, I thought so. Still I think my point stands. Bioware wasn't planning on making DA2.wickedwizzard01 wrote...

i'm not so sure if they had not planned a second gamesince the ending slides suggest a continuation of the story
but you could be correct,.
but then why change everything in the game remains a mystery

Actually, the next ME series should be a squad-based, turn-based tactical game along the lines of Jagged Alliance.
