Hey folks,

I am finally getting around to playing NWN1 after all this time, and as I was updating, I was told to get the Critical Rebuild Patch, and so I went and downloaded it; immediately my anti-virus came up with a warning for the Maximus worm, in the nwserver file, I am using FProt Anti-Virus, which picked up the virus, my Spybot did not find it however.  Can anyone tell me if this is an actual problem or am I getting a false positive from my Anti-Virus?  It has never given me a bad reading before.

If you got the Critical Rebuild from BioWare, it's a false positive.

I did get it from the bioware support site ( http://nwn.bioware.c...glish_hotu.html ), I will download it again then and try installing again.

I wonder if your using AVG it's nefarious for false positives..

AVG has never given me a false positive. Got a citation for 'nefarious' in this case? You did read the post tho? He said he is using F-prot

False positives are not uncommon. I use Avast! and I've had only one false positive with it (a few months back). Interestingly, I switched to Avast! from AVG some time ago because the latter was giving too many false positives and they were being slow to update.
