Is that it?
Anyone else get more than +3 Approval rating out of that? I was expecting much more.

You mean with Goldanna? Think so. I had him up to +99(love) and didn't encounter anything else.

I have heard depending on how you handle Alistair with it, it will change his reactions in Landsmeet--ie you can "harden him" up by telling him "everyone is out for themselves" or something... haven't tried it yet, though, but that might be the point of it rather than any rep.

I read that too and I'm trying it out this play through, as for the rep gain, yeah its not much.

yeah, I couldn't believe that me being nice to him in this one instance (as opposed to me being nice to him throughout the whole game) would have such a significant impact on his character--apparently he just needs to suck this one up. =/
I also couldn't believe how he acted at the Landsmeet (at least if you didn't 'harden' him), it seemed really unreasonable and awfully OOC. Maybe I would feel less offended if I hadn't been romancing him.
