Ah, just lock her in a room with Loghain. No one shuts her up quite the way he does.

True playing RTO with Loghain is awsome.

He just shuts Wynne down so much.

Also her banter is even derpier there for some reason.

The way Wynne tries to constantly mother The Warden I'm surprised she doesn't take a female Warden who's wearing Dalish armor and say "Dear your not wearing that are you?"

Considering some of the mages gear, and how much leg it shows, she really cant compare.

GAH Old lady side leg...

What I find odd is that Wynne calls Leliana "guileless." That's definitely a surprising choice of words to me considering her past, which makes me question Wynne's perception of her.

I think Wynne is fool enough to see Leliana at face value only, while Lel sees there being more to gain by being the sweet chantry girl to Wynne.  Maybe Wynne will wash her socks for her and knit her pretty scarves.

I've always thought Wynne dislikes Zevran because he sees through her. Won't pander to her need to mentor everyone to make herself feel 'special'. As with Leliana, she doesn't see past the facade, so he reacts to that by tweaking her nose.

My only regret about routinely killing off Wynne is I miss out on Ines in the Wending Wood ;-)

I think she still appears in Awakening, no?

Doesn't Wynne still show up in Awakening even if you kill her?

Exactly.  He's not even mean to her, by contrast.  He makes her uncomfortable because she pokes old wounds, and because she lets him get to her, thus turning the tables.  Yet I don't remember a single instance of him being malicious towards her as he could be at times with Alistair, which was justified because Alistair was picking fights with him.  (I love the restored banters where they eventually start to get allong quite well.  Cute.  XD )

Wynne is determined to judge him without getting to know him.

I didn't like how she turned on Oghren so quickly in banter, ether.  She's a verry judgemental character, yet can't take what she dishes when tables turn.

Yep.  I have a big problem with judgemental people in real life, so I think the whoever wrote Wynne's dialogue and character just manages to push my buttons.  Which is a testament to their story telling skills - well done to them :)

Wynne doesn't reason with you about not putting love above duty, she preaches it to you, and in the case of Zevran, she only does so after she bashes your relatinship for being unbecoming of a Warden. Who the hell is she to tell my Dalish, who didn't want to be a warden, that he needs to meet her standards when she is not a frikkn' warden. Lady, you are the one who's life is being extended by a spirit so you can have an adventure while MY character is doomed to a life of self sacrifice and unimaginable horror, doomed to die young or else become a ghoul. ****** off already.

And she has no right to judge Zevran for his past when he was a slave who was never allowed to experience innocence, not even as a child, and was sold to the Crows at the age of 7 who did unspeakable things to condition him for his future as a contract killer.

Same here!

And hats off to Sheryl Chee for writing Wynne. I love to hate your creation!

Also, I don't get the age thing. Facially, she doesn't look that old. She also confesses to having a son about Alistair's age (so 20-25) which means she can't be older than 60, tops, and is probably in her 50s. Yet she bangs on about how terribly old she is. Grief, woman.

Back in the day, living to 60 was rare. In some asian cultures, they still keep tradition of making a big deal of your 60th birthday because historically, it was rare to live past that age. Ever wonder why in some countries, the retirement age is like 50? Because once, that was pretty old. I think in France, some places had it so you can retire and collect your pension at like 55 because people didn't live much longer than that. But now it is biting them in the **** because people are living longer and the pension system is overburdened. I would imagine that in the middle ages (where this kind of fantasy is based) that the average age people lived to was around 50 or so.

I like Wynne. I find her just and fair. She did annoy me when she questioned my relationships but then I was happy when she apologized to me. And she saved my butt when Morrigan bailed on me.

I pretty much like all the characters except Shale (she annoys me). Zevran I am neutral on.

And tried to kill me when I told Cullen maleficarum should fear me.

I was just trying ti sound like a badass. Really didn't have any intention of killing the mages, Wynne.

OMG!  I didn't know she'd do that!  XD  LMAO!  That is the funniest DA:O dialogue missunderstanding I've heard of to date!  Oh man, I haven't gotten there with my Vallen, and she would have said the same thing, in her case meaning that she will dispatch of those who are abominations.  *head desk*  Well, I guess I won't have to worry about Wynne harassing my fem mage, though I was actually looking forward to roleplaying the conversations about her duty to the circle.  *sigh*  Leave it to Wynne to die over a missunderstanding.

In my current game (HNF, not romancing anyone) she's been surprisingly non-annoying. And actually rather useful now I've learned to make full use of her buffing and healing abilities.

Still, my Circle-hating gay bloodmage who was romancing Zevran really just wanted to serve her a nice hot cup of STFU.

I suppose that without the "love advice" she's more bearable. Also, as a noble, you get her "I had no idea... my Lady" line, which for some reason I find hilarious.

I have never doubted that her skills are useful indeed. Her buffs can make quite a difference as well as her healing. Still, not enough to make me tolerate another run with her...:(

Oh my god, she says that? Wow that woman really has lost it hasn't she? That's the funniest thing I've heard tonight.  Thanks. The things you miss out on not playing certain Origins.

Yeah, when you're a noble and she asks you how you became a warden, once you let her know you are a Cousland she goes:

"You're the last of the Couslands? I had no idea... my Lady."

It's the face she does while saying it that really gets me, sort of like "oh please, don't order my execution if you don't like what I'll say!".

It seems to be the attitude she has towards authority in general.

She probably does have a lot of personal issues. Maybe next playthrough I'll be nice.
