hope that title isnt to much spolier  ^_^

but anyways..  Am i missing something here.  Morrigan recomends that you go directly after logain. and then go make the treaties in peace.  But i for the life of me cant figure out if there is a way to get to him first. there doesnt seam to be any way to get to him priror to completing the sacred ash quest ?  and by that later game time is it even possible to go back to orzamar or the elves or mages?  the later game quest order has me kinda fuzzy..

anyways, can someone explain if you can take morrigans advice and go directly after logain from the start? aka lothering

No, you can only get to Loghain at the Landsmeet.

All the four treaties must be completed before Landsmeet.

ok.. so basically morrigans suggestion has no way of being followed at all?   How very odd of bioware to make a big point of it in the lothering opening phase if its basically impossible.

ahh well,  thanks for the info

Since she (as a character) has no way of knowing that, it makes sense that she would suggest going straight for the traitor.

That was, actually, a very good suggestion. Might have been hard to do, but hey - getting those treaties was no piece of cake, ya know.

Sucks that game mechanics often precludes logic.

Morrigan's suggestion WAS an option very early on in game development - you could do the Landsmeet quest line right after Ostagar. This is why in the toolset there was a Fade nightmare for Loghain - you could recruit him before doing the treaty quests.

As it stands now, however, you must do all the treaty quests first.

Ummm I remember you can do the following.

Right after Lothering go to Red Cliff, then to Denerim, checkout Geneitivis House, then go to Haven and get the Ashes, then go back to Red Cliff and go to Denerim/Landsmeet. I havent tested it but you might be able to go to Haven before doing redcliff. You should be able to Skip teh Circle, Braecillian Forest and Orzamar.

Um . . . no, that's not possible. You need Arl Eamon to call the Landsmeet and he won't do that until you've assembled all of your allies (ie complete all the other major quests).

You can go to Haven before Redcliffe, but you can't skip the allies.

I'm not sure why it seems like a good idea. You want to storm the castle of the Fereldan King with Alister, a Mage with an attitude, and a dog? I mean, it's not like he's going to be sitting outside the estate with a big "Assassinate Me!" sign on him.

And even if he was, what has the warden done up to that point that would make anyone want to follow him anyway? Someone declared a traitor and regicide murders the Regent! Plainly Loghain was right!

If you're going to take Sten, you have to take Dog!

"I'm a giant with a war-dog. I am either making a delivery, or besieging your fort. Pray it is the former."

Turns out it was the latter, instead.

Exactly.  Hell, wouldn't killing Loghain be right up Leliana's alley???  Of course, she'd have to disguise the accent to get anywhere near him, but . . .

You don't have to storm the castle, sneak in.  At that point in the game, how many people actually know YOU as a GW?  Sneak in, take him out, move on, let the government be run as it should . . .

As another poster noted, Morrigan's suggestion makes sense, notwithstanding it is impossible in the game. It also provides a good roleplaying justification for going to Denerim 1st after Lothering, asking Slim (?) if he can sneak you into the palace district, and while you're there anyway, might as well do a few missions there before heading off on your first allies quest.

Don't you get the options to walk away from the main quests?

in the circle of mages you don't have to enter the tower, you don't have to help Zathrian or either of the dwarf houses.

So unless Eamon forces you to ask for help could't you do this and ask for the landsmeet after redcliffe and urn quests?

Nope. Eamon will not call the Landsmeet until you have all the treaty allies.

You don't have to do any of them the first time you go there, or in any order . . .but you DO have to do them eventually in order to get to the landsmeet and the end of the game
