I've lived in many places, and I have never been asked about any kind of survey.

I suggest you go away read a basic book on statistics and then decide whether you really want to persue this line of argument .

I suggest you go try to improve the educational system as this will likley not happen and we have get a voice herer like it or not.

In order to expand your market you market to that market. This is a growing market that should be marketed to. There is one word for not following up on trends: Moronic

Don't you hate it when your thread turns into a battle of the sexes? It's like the men are all "ARGH, NO, WOMAN STAY IN CAVE!! *shake stick* and the women are all "Fhawke you, unintelligent trollers!" and stuff...

Yeah....

Sad that threads about marketing to females always seem to turn out like that.

Yes. That's kinda what overt means. Out in the open for everyone to see.

Out of curiousity, what did you think I was saying?

I am thinking it is too late for me to listen to my brain and some definations got mixed up in there.

My vocablulary is quite small.

Ya. Math and science. Those things are easy for me. Vocabulary, spelling, proper grammer have always been the areas I struggle in and have led to me sticking my foot in my mouth more then this once.
I apologize for any confusion and will just shut up now. At least untill I get some sleep.

how do you know if something is "right" if it's not researched and put through the scientific method?

That, uh, doesn't mean no one goes door to door surveying. Logic!

There are online surveys, and surveys you don't even know you are participating, but not everybody is participating. No 100%.

Well it's obvious you have no idea how statistics work. You do not have to ask literally everyone in the world a question in order to gather data about something. Once you get a big enough sample size, it will be representative of the entire population (meaning that your data would be the same even if you asked a larger number of people).

There is a big female community on these bioware forums. However, i am 100% sure that if they remove the romance/li subplots more than half of it will leave asap.

Research surveys are the spawn of Satan and only exist to mislead you.

Depends on the organization running it. Usually those results you see on TV come much later after the actual researchers have had a chance to look at the data and handed it off to whatever corporate overlord they work for.

That's why everyone should have some understanding of how gathering statistics work and the math behind it. Those overlords will jazz hands the money right out of your pocket.

What an outrageously idiotic thing to say.

Most of the people posting overtly sexist remarks are trolls trying to get a reaction. Just to put things into perspective.

Men are often not respected and often mistreated by women.
Suddenly were trolls because we differ in opinion...
If your so smart tell us how we are wrong....if your smart enoguh you should be able to convince us.

Flip a coin three four times and you won't come up with 50/50 results.

Flip a coin three four hundred times and you will.

Do you need to keep flipping coins for eternity, or flip every coin in existence to prove your point? No.

EDIT: In all fairness, it's impossible to get 50/50 with only three flips.

I don't know, I enjoyed Baldur's Gate (the first one) and there were no romances in that game...Image IPB

Besides, you seem to be pretending that male gamers don't like romance, in spite of all the people complaining about how DA2 won't let them search for their true love, Morrigan.

I don't know about you but I've done my best to avoid looking at anything said through that lens. May not have suceeded but I don't think I attacked anyone for being male (I happen to be one) or accused anyone of being sexist.

One of my all-time favorite games is Metal Gear Solid 3. Romantic!

(It's about as romantic as your average Bond film)
