What's so wrong with doing a little research on a game before you buy it? If I were female I wouldn't go to a game store, pick up a game, and instantly dismiss it because I don't see a female on the cover. Read the back of the game and if it doesn't say you can play as a female and you're still interested in the game ask a clerk.

Besides, if female gamers aren't smart enough to do whats listed above, what makes you think they will dig deep enough to see trailers/screenshots featuring Female Hawke? And didn't Bioware state we'd see female Hawke eventually anyway? Sorry, I'm not a female so maybe I don't understand the frustration over not seeing a female version yet but I don't see what the big ****ing deal is.

Have you read the back of the DAO or ME? It says nothing about playing as a female. As for asking a clerk...well you'd be at the mercy of their knowledge or lack there of.  I'm not sure how versed some of the workers at Target/Walmart are at the games they sale.

Do people lack the internet?
Some people do I suppose...very much a minority though.

What's worse is if they did put a female companion on the cover it would probably end up being the Morrigan type in her loose and revealing robes which is an entire other can of worms. :D

I love Morrigan and she's, in my opinion, the most interesting character in Dragon Age. But yes, the philosophy behind women in box art seems to be 'the more suggestive the better.'

But if you are debating between two RPGs right then and there, wouldn't you try and weigh the options available.

You do realize that's essentially a series and that female protagonists aren't nearly as common as male ones, right?

DA:O doesn't say anything about playing as a male on the back cover, either. As for ME, it has a fixed protagonist (Shephard) that was introduced as a male (commercial-wise).

I hope to never see a day where you can only play as a woman...end of video games...women will not stay that interested without the support of men.

I honestly couldn't tell you, NWN2 came out in the past 5 years I'm pretty sure.

As mentioned before by someone, it's probably because I've only really played bioware games why I don't get it.

No, no, he's totally right. Don't you remember how Metroid brought the entire video game industry to a screeching halt? ;)

Thus men were converted into liking playing as a woman...which, might not have been the best thing for humans.Look at those MMOs!

I don't see the point in this anymore, sorry. If you're posting in this topic YOU know that you can play as a female. YOU will buy the game knowing you can pick either male or female. If other women don't, that's BIOWARE'S problem. It won't affect YOUR gaming experience.

YOU (Women and some Men) will see Female Hawke because YOU hang around these forums and because Bioware said so. It'd be nice to see both Hawkes on the cover but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. It might, but I don't think its likely.
