You do realize that's essentially a series and that female protagonists aren't nearly as common as male ones, right?

I hope to never see a day where you can only play as a woman...end of video games...women will not stay that interested without the support of men.

wasn't tomb raider a lead female only? probably one of the biggest selling and marketed games of all time

That was no woman that was a big breast shooting bullets.

And guys wonder why women hate us sometimes

I don't see the point in this anymore, sorry. If you're posting in this topic YOU know that you can play as a female. YOU will buy the game knowing you can pick either male or female. If other women don't, that's BIOWARE'S problem. It won't affect YOUR gaming experience.

YOU (Women and some Men) will see Female Hawke because YOU hang around these forums and because Bioware said so. It'd be nice to see both Hawkes on the cover but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. It might, but I don't think it likely.

? But I almost didn't know about it for DA:0, ME and ME2. I almost missed them and how sad would it have been if that had happened.

If nobody cared about anyone but themselves how sad a world it would be

Not so sad since you would not be putting so much time on bioware forums? If anything it would ahve been better.

Question real quick, were you interested in these games because of a female option or did you just not care about the game itself? What I'm saying is, if somebody is interested in the game they'd likely do the research surrounding it before purchasing. Being a female or not shouldn't make or break the decision if the person is interested in the game beforehand.

Funny though, as I mentioned somewhere about 20 pages ago lol, I didn't know you could play a male in DA:O as every commercial I saw I thought Leliana was your main character, lol.

The female option and the rich interaction. Neither was evident to me from the ads I had been exposed to

this was the sole reason I started playing DA:O --> http://www.comicsalliance.com/2010/03/31/why-i-love-dragon-age-by-colleen-coover

before that I thought it was like other male only rpgs

Sounds like a female option is a deal breaker for you.

Who will convert more women to play?
easy enough to get a guy to try a game...hard as hell to get a woman to.

Well that is just not true.

I got my 62 year old non gamer mom to play DA:0 and she rocked it.

To bring up another example.

If you are going to an electronic store to purchase a TV and find two or three similarly priced. Wouldn't you look at the options of each before deciding? If the manufacturer doesn't list anything, they would in all likely hood lose a sale.

But if you had done research into the game, you would've known you'd be able to play a female character. I'm not interested in Halo Reach, when Iw as talking about the main character having an option to be female or male I didn't even care because my interest in the game was already 0. If the option of being either of the genders makes your interest in the game skyrocket and not the storyline, world or characters then I find the priorities of yours a little odd.

While I'm not against female advertisement, the sheer thought of people becoming suddenly interested in the game (while not being moved by anything else) because of the option to play a woman is.. interesting, to say the least.

Actually no I wouldn't. In this day and age I'd go online, find out everything the t.v. had to offer and read reviews.
