Hmm tpryan01 were you the one who said you didn't play Red Dead Redemption and a bunch of other games because you can't play as a female? I think you're doing yourself a disservice if you value story and gameplay. There are lots of excellent games with a fixed protagonist.

Well, you could be female in Multiplayer.

BTW this thread = hilarious

also Bioware already said they'd be showing off FemHawke although I'm sure Dave and Arttis have said that several times by now so ya.

Yes we know. But we are trying to discuss marketing to new players...specificaly females.

Not needed. Most female do not play this game.Majority who play this game is men.I would say its a waste of resources and can cause much confusion and is not worth it.

Yes because adding a picture of a female Hawke with play as either gender would be a complete waste of resouces.

I'm sure I'll be attacked but wouldn't a FemHawke commercial market to new players?Image IPB

Fine. I'll give you a new argument.

Dragon Age Origins was always announced as a game where you'd have choices between gender, a few of the first videos that were released even showed the differences between genders and races in an effort to prove that the game would be different. Then the concept art for each individual origin came out, once again cementing the gender issue.

For example, here's the City Elf poster that was shown to promote the origin itself.

It clearly demonstrates the character is female.

"Oh but that's just a few pictures! The Male Warden had a few videos!"

No. They also advertised multiple female trailers as well.

You're blaming Bioware marketing for never knowing that the game had a female option, yet that's not the issue at all. You were just too uninterested in the game to give a damn.

Simple they feel it is not enough because they are the minority,
If they are going online looking for pics they can find out they can play as female.

On the box, yes it would, but in the form of concept art or screenshots on the website (like me2 and da:o) then it would be alright

*squeaky, geeky voice* Bioware has stated that female Hawke will appear in the marketing campaign, which will appeal to female players. There, the question has finally been answ--wait, *normal voice* other people have already mentioned it? Consarn it!
