From anyone?

I mentioned earlier in the thread (much earlier) that I will play a game with a male character (if the game interests me) and will occasionally even choose to play a male.  However, I definitely like having the choice to play a female, as that is what I will choose most of the time.

Well, I meant more towards the part where Bioware did advertise for female characters in Origins and that tpryan blaming Bioware advertising for not doing it but.. thanks for the answer though! (I'd answer but I do believe we'd be going around in circles and I'd be called a troll again)

What would Spider-man think if he saw this thread? Or Batman? Don't get me started on Captain Planet.

*squeaky, geeky voice* Bioware has stated that female Hawke will appear in the marketing campaign, which will appeal to female players. There, the question has finally been answ--wait, *normal voice* other people have already mentioned it? Consarn it!

Woah. Déjà vu.

You're welcome.Posted Image  I do agree that the trailers released for DA:O actually were pretty good about showing female PCs.

Hmm tpryan01 were you the one who said you didn't play Red Dead Redemption and a bunch of other games because you can't play as a female? I think you're doing yourself a disservice if you value story and gameplay. There are lots of excellent games with a fixed protagonist.

Well, you could be female in Multiplayer.

BTW this thread = hilarious

also Bioware already said they'd be showing off FemHawke although I'm sure Dave and Arttis have said that several times by now so ya.

Yes we know. But we are trying to discuss marketing to new players...specificaly females.

I'm sure I'll be attacked but wouldn't a FemHawke commercial market to new players?Posted Image

Yes, it would. Posted Image

I believe women who only play the game because they can be female are very much a minority of women of the minority of women.
Thus waste.

Mage Trailer.

City Elf Trailer.

And a few trailers that were showing the differences between females / males and elves / humans.

And like I said and have tried to present in examples.  Playing a women is pure gravy.  It allows for additional playthroughs.  More bang for your buck.

.. then why would advertisements matter if you go into a store and buy the game off a shelf without any research on it?

Well then, it would be nice for it to be mentioned on the back of the box.* Also see my previous post.

*squeaky, gee--Actually, I'm going to go on a limb and say (write) that Bioware listens to the fans, therefore we'll likely see a female Hawke trailer before 2011. I could be wrong, but considering the popularity of this thread and the female Hawke thread it's pretty likely we'll see this much-covetted female Hawke.

It's mentioned at the back of the box that you have full character customization.* I do believe I've covered that before, too tired to check.

They gave a trailer for females in the last game.No reason to see that change.
