well video games in general do not appeal to females.Mecha Tengu wrote...
I think Bioware should spend more money on the actual game than marketing

I'd hate to pay for scrounged up DLC made by Bioware because they are short of funds
I mentioned DLC, because that's what happens when you lack funds, you recycle crap to sell for $3-4 each to bring you back up
This has probably already been said multiple times, but women make up 30-40 percent of gamers. You're just basing your assumption on tired old gender stereotypes. Look how many women post on this forum!
I'll never understand why so many of you guys are so *bothered* by the mere suggestion that we get to see some proof of Lady Hawke's existence. We like playing as a female, so while a lot of you are getting pumped up on the concept art and cinematic trailer, we're just waiting for a glimpse at the character we could be playing.
there is yet no proof that these are ACTUAL women.
and by "gamers" do you mean people who play guitar hero, Sims, Dragon age on easy mode? (you gotta be kidding me if you think this is a mature, dark RPG) or as a nelf in WoW? I don't consider those gamers.
and we're not bothered at all, we are just kinda annoyed that video game companies have to conform to women's wishes, and hardcore content like nudity and violence are eithered heavily toned down or removed to appeal to a larger fanbase.
Well you're in luck, because video game companies rarely do conform to "women's wishes" (whatever that means.. given that bioware already opts to create gender options, I don't think many big demands are being made here..). There are plenty of us who you would consider "real" gamers, which means playing as a straight male character the vast majority of the time. And that's fine! We obviously love gaming enough that we can have fun with an fps or a linear rpg without the option of a female character. But since bioware *does* give that option, they have a very loyal female fanbase who's really excited to see what they have to offer for fem!hawke.
And to my knowledge, hardcore content is not toned down to appeal to women. Next to nothing in games is designed to appeal to women- the devs have already said that their advertising caters to men because you're the larger fanbase. But oh, it's our fault when "hardcore" stuff is taken out? Um, unlikely..
