Didn't most fans (well on these forums anyway) play as femshep?  There are polls somewhere...

Anyway,
please not Sheploo!  Otherwise all those idiots are never gonna stop
going on about the default Shepard being canon, when there isn't one,
ARGH!!

God, stop kidding yourself. For marketing  purposes there has *always*
been a default one, how many times does Bioware have to repeat that,
here's a hint, it's the male sheploo one. And you can just bet that if
we ever have a movie involving shepard it'll be a male one named john.
You may not like it, a lot of us may not like it, I certainly don't. But
face facts. This is how it is.

I have never, ever, said that the sheploo shepard is not the default.

Default Shep IS the canon one. Wheter YOU want the story or not, it's ok. But there is a canon Shep.

 ^

Why are you responding with Gi0m's post?  You know this is really ironic Count... Your post I've bolded, is exactly what I've argued in the past, precisely because I was arguing the difference between a default and a canon shepard.  And the devs have confirmed it...  Shall I quote?  ;D

Go for it, I'd love to be proven wrong, as that would suggest bioware has some kind of brain.

I'm just the devils advocate here

I want Commander Shepard to be an actor who is somewhere between 29-31.... the actual age of Shepard. I'm sick of Hollywood casting 40 year old men to play 30 year olds who date 30 year old characters played by 20 year old actresses. So please let the actor be the actual age of someone in their late 20's to early 30's.

Okay, here you go: http://meforums.biow...forum=144&sp=30

Scroll down and you'll see...

I honestly don't get why you were having at go at me though...  I never said there wasn't a default shepard :/ And when I caught you on that, you just shifted the goal posts..

Fair enough, one of the bioware crew seems to think there's difference between them.

I'm my mind however there isn't one. which is why I didn't change anything. I percived your description of a default and cannon shepard as being one and the same, as thats the impression i've gotten from all the posts from chris and stanley over the years defending the choice to only show off the male one for 'marketing purposes".

I also used his post as a response because he basically said in a few lines what I had obviously failed to make clear, IMO default = cannon, this was never about anything else.

Slight misinterpetation on my behalf, and perhaps a bit poorly worded as it was never intended as a personal thing against you specifially.

Apologies.

I loved Jack on Lost, I'm for this casting choice.  He was annoyingly stubborn at times, but ultimately the point of his character was to overcome that skepticism and just "go with it".

Aha, dude, it's not like I take rebuttals personally :D. I mean, I just branded a bunch of people idiots (half-jokingly, mind you), so I'm not the type to be bothered if we all start slagging each other off ;). Anyway, thanks for the apology, though it's not necessary - it's just that it didn't make sense to me, so I'm glad you "get" me now :)

Any fans of The Tudors here?

The actor that plays Sir Charles Brandon looks just like Shepard, and he's a good actor. For those that haven't seen The Tudors, Sir Chales Brandon is the character that early on the first scene, speaks the line, "With the damage our guns are already inflicting, I swear Bologne will not hold out for long."

With shorter hair in this clip, looks just like Sheploo:

I mocked Jack's acting with the rest of them throughout Losts' run, but Fox blew me away in the finale. I was incredibly moved by his performance.

He was good in the last series yes, but he's no Sheppard.
Wrong sortof guy.
Matthew Fox would have been good a few years ago, but honestly i think he's lost his edge.

My vote goes to Dominic Purcell.
Rough, edgy, large!

Big Dom would be ace.
