i purchased Mass Effect 2 from steam when the game came out and it has always run perfectly up to  yesterday when i purchased 2 DLC, Overlord and Kasumi, and i installed them both and started the game up. as soon as the bioware logo came up the video seemed to lag, i then started a new game and it stutters so bad i can barely move let alone aim and even play the game, the blue markers on doors, computers, etc are not on the actual item i have to move my cross hairs around to try and find the blue marker otherwise it is red and does nothing, the sound makes static and crackling noises and the game at times freezes for a few seconds then continues.

the only thing to change on my pc between the time it worked and now is the 2 DLC no windows updates or any other program installs or system setting changes.  i have just done a reinstall of both the game and the addons and there is no change. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try disable the 9400 video card, maybe the DLCs are not optimized well for SLI tech.

well i havnt tried turning my sli off but i have tried to run the game w/o those addons after i reinstalled and it still had the same problem so i dont think its that the addons arnt good with sli

You cannot try to compare a video card from the lower part of middle class to its cousin from the upper middle class. He has the higher bandwidth that you do not, so if he was running a 1900 by 1000 resolution, he'd be OK, unlike a laptop with its crippled or non-representative card as compared to a desktop card with nearly the same name (nVIDIA often changes names on laptop cards for marketing reasons, to make buyers think they are getting something special when they actually are not).
