Hey, just wondering if its possible to tell ME2 to use Stereo mode for my headphones without having to go into control panel everytiime i swap games as there is no "force stereo for headphone use" type option in the ingame sound options. Im thinking mabye in the config file or something but i know nil about computers lol.

Thanks in advance for any replies and sorry if its a dumb question =)

go to Control Panel, click Sounds,Speech, and Audio Device, click "Change the speaker settings",just below the "Volume" tab you should see "Speaker settings", click Advanced, now in the Advanced and Audio Properties "Speakers" tab you can change your stereo settings, just choose "Stereo headphones" in the "Speaker setup:" lists...B)

Thanks, i was hoping there might be a way to tell Mass Effect 2 to do it while leaving my system sound on 5.1 as ME2 is the only game i usually use headphones for atm.... eg: dragon age has the option in its game menu to "force stereo sound".

I know its not a big deal but would save a slight hassle when swapping between games =)

prolly should edit my title =)   ***title edited***

Both Dragon Age games give the option to Force Stereo. With those options disabled, my realtek HD audio plays cutscene voices in the most craptastic imaginable way. Simply by turning on Force Stereo the cutscene dialogue is resolved and gaming bliss ensues. I'm looking for a way to force stereo in Mass Effect 2. Going to the realtek control panel via Windows and selecting stereo setup (as opposed to 5.1) removes the subwoofer from my system and then everything in the game sounds craptastic, not just the cutscene dialogue. How can I force stereo in Mass Effect 2?
