Is there any way at all to get a nose for maleShep in ME1-ME2 that actually looks halfway decent ingame?

When I make a custom Shep in ME1 he always looks very decent in the character creator but the moment I start up the game it turns out to be much more bulbous/large than expected. I swear all the noses that looked "okay" in the creator when in-game turn out looking like some sorta oversized hook-nose. Is there any nose I can use that does not look like it was either punched in, broken and fixed multiple times or just plain weird?

Thanks for any info...god I wish I could just use a nose that looks like Sheploo's as that is the shape I am most trying to find for my Shep's face....

Seriously, it seems like Sheploo is the only one that gets a straight nose that is not either bent or hideously oversized. Its frustrating having to sit through the same intro over and over trying to get that perfect look.

Any advice on which nose is the most normal/straight looking and looks good in both ME1 and 2?

Seems simple to me - make it smaller than you think it should be, then when you play the game your mind will kick in and make it seem larger, fitting his face.

Use default Shepard. Thats what I do. ME character creator sucks.

Default has more details and looks better than anything the CC can churn up. Only other solution is to find the smallest nose and hope for the best.

Tried the smallest nose option and ended up with Shep looking like he got his face smashed in by an angry Krogan.

The thing is that I finally got the *perfect* face in every detail except the nose, all the noses seem to either have this wonky indent or have the polar opposite being sort of sticking out at an angle. All I am looking for a a straight bridge to my nose. So far it seems the only one that has that has nostrils twice the size of what should fit the face.

Does anyone here know which nose has a straight bridge and "human sized" nostrils? (preferably in ME1 since I plan to start a new playthrough from the start)

I would just try every nose one by one in-game but the problem is that the intro is f***ing unskippable and going from the menu-creation-game even just skipping all customization and changing a single facial feature as a test takes 10 minutes thanks to there being no "skip scene" button. I know 10 minutes sounds like nothing. But one has to realize that it means 3 noses = half an hour. Not fun.

On a side note: I normally did use Sheploo, but I am tired of his look, I got the perfect face that I want down-pat, its just the nose that bothers me. Also I tried making the depth lower. Did not work, in fact it just made some noses look like a button and others look like a square sticking out of his face.

All i need is basically a nose that comes relatively close to the shape of default Shep's. Did they decide to do this simply because they wanted Sheploo to have the only non-broken nose? <_<

I think my shep looks better than default shepard. But yea, textures need a bit more details.

What I find totaly lame is that default shape nose, eyes, hair etc are not available for the custom creation.
Default Shep is cool, I just wanted to tweak a bit of him. But then, **** happens, impossible to even get close to his face.

Remember, if you right click the portrait and hold a direction (PC), you can turn the face to see it from the side. That makes it a lot easier to work on the nose.

You can do the same on the Xbox 360 with the right analog stick. The problem is you make a face/profile/shape and all seems to be perfectly fine. Everything is the right shape and size. Then you sit through 5-10 minutes of intro, your SHep looks fine from up front, you are happy. Suddenly you get a view of him from the side, you notice that his nose looks like it could poke out someone's eye, also it looks like it has been broken multiple times to the point that the bridge bends down at a 30 degree angle.

All I can say at that moment is "This is not the pizza I ordered!"

And in all honesty, my Shep (from my own point of view) looks 10 times better than Sheploo and is only missing the right nose. I just wanna get something like Sheploo's nose (normal sized nostrils, straight bridge, not bulbous) and I would have a perfect Shep.

Its not even a matter of lighting like some would suggest. It is in all honesty a sudden addition of 3-4 inches to the front of your nose. It makes no freaking bloody sense.

I think you're getting worked up over nothing. My MShep's face looks fine to me.

Try looking up a bunch of face codes online, get one with a nose you like, then adjust everything else.

This would have been solved if only they'd included options to alter the proportions of your nose, like in Dragon Age. A seemingly ridiculous nose can be made perfectly presentable and a seemingly ordinary nose can be made completely fudging outlandish with such a system. A lot of range. The nose is one of the most noticeable things on a person's face, so if there's no way to get a nose you like, the entire face suffers.

What I don't understand is why a "normal" nose wasn't included as an option. I see more of those on real faces than I do any of the others on the list...

Well its not that I am getting really extremely worked up over it. I am just so bored out of my mind thanks to sitting through an unskippable intro so many times. Thankfully I came across the "Ugly Shepard" story/topic so at least now I can't help but laughing like an idiot.

Also Solaris Paradox pretty much summed it up. I mean come on, is it really hard to have an option for a nose that looks natural? Sure we can argue that noses come in all shapes and sizes. But how is it that they never considered that alot of those shapes and sizes don't always have to involve angles on the bridge? I see many more straight noses than any other on any given day when just walking in the city.

I repeat:

ME 2 face codes won't work in ME 1.

I keep having the same problem. The whole face turns out to be decent, quite nice even.

But when you look at it from the side, the nose.. well, what has been stated above numerous times happens.

Of course they work, you simply have to convert them. Try this link:

I haven't managed to create a single custom MaleShep I like. He always ends up looking like a... meathead.
