Liara tells you that the "Melding" thing with another they intertwine and mix their essence so this might the Reason why Liara is kicking ass it seems to be canon that shep took Liara as LI and that transformed the shy innocent Liara to the strong kickass Liara.

Do we know if the hammerhead will be in this DLC?
I know a lot of people were quite annoyed by it but I actually thought it made for a nice change of pace and gameplay in Overlord. Wouldn't mind a hammerhead interlude in LotSB if it is not too long.

i dont care for the hammerhead, liked it at first though.. but now i realise that it's basically just a time-consumer to make the DLC last that much longer..

This is a really interesting idea tbh... I mean, after you melded one of the only conversations you had was on Virmire, and then it might've been too soon after the melding/too short a conversation to notice the changes emerging... I like that explanation.

I really like your idea, but if it was the case, it would have been common knoledge that the melding alter the personnality of the asari.

But still, it makes a good explanation for her change.

Edit: now i have doubt that she explain you something like this about melding and that's why it is important to do it with a person carefuly chosen ....

I just hope that the BW servers will be ready for the massive downloads of the 7th... imagine a overload while trying to download the DLC, after all this wait :P

Well. I personally hope it's like last time. By some fluke I was one of the first to actually play Overlord before everybody else. I hope I'm just as lucky next time.

We need more flukes lol. XBL is gonna get hammered that day.

I really like how this is released as DLC and not in the main game. It gives me reason to go back for another playthrough and experience it all over again. If all this DLC that has been released was included in the main game i would have finished it and probably not touched it again.

They would have made other DLC for the game, don't worry, they have some people fully devoted to make the them.
So in any case, they would have give you another reason to play it again.

The Featherhead needs to die. It better not be in this DLC.

Yeah true, just seems to be alot of people complaining they have to pay for DLC, Ive found it all pretty enjoyable so far and am happy to dish out 5 or 10 bucks to carry on playing further with Shepard.

Nope. It just needs to die. I'd talk about why I prefer The Mako WAY over the Featherhead, but it'd be unrelated to this DLC.

Playing ME1 again and yes, I much prefer the Mako.  The "Featherhead" is fun for driving around in, but pretty useless otherwise.  In fact, it's even worse maneuvering around rocky areas than the Mako.  No wheels.

I personally never understood what all the MAKO complaining was about. I had absolutelly no issues controlling and fighting in it. I just think a frightening portion of the population lacks the spatial-reasoning to operate the mako's drive train and turret independent of eachother...

I think you have hit on the reason for her change from me 1 to me 2 the only problem would be for the games where you dont have her as your LI as she is still the badass girl

Nothing wrong with the MAKO aside from the bland, cut and paste enviornments it was placed in, and the largely meaningless driving from point to point. Why, for the most part, wouldn't Joker just drop you where you needed to be?

My guess is she has "hardened". As with many Bioware games the player gets the option to harden an LI to better suit their personality...except in this case it happened outside the players control (like a certain character in kotor). If this is the case we may get the option to "unharden" liara (like the same certain character in kotor).

I mean the girl has been through a **** ton....
0.--Killed or hurt and unknown number of pirates/enemies during early travels (as said so during ME1 dialouge)
1. Assualted by geth, then left to starve to death by the very thing she as trying to study.
2. possibly killed her own mother, or atleast was there, or atleast knew that the person who saved her or even the person she loved was the one responsible for her death. (even if her mother was bat**** crazy and evil that still must pack a punch)
3 LI. The only person she has loved/mated with, dies outside her control (almost infront of her eyes) after what, like a month after the citadel battle maybe
3 non LI. One of her closest friends and the person for saving her,,,will the exact same stuff as above.
4. hunts down the corpse of her closet friend dodging death the whole way to save the body from a race of evil ****ers. Then hands the body over to a group that Shepard may or may not have been fighting in ME1.
5. While collecting the body of her possibly closest friend, another close "friend" gets taken hostage or even killed.

If that **** DIDNT harden her, I would be more concerned.

It may also be that Liara didn't really change, but a different side of her personality is showing through stronger given the new and dangerous situation she finds herself in.

Plus, there's really no such thing as a 'canon' LI, and I doubt Liara melded enough with non-romanced Shepards to bring about any significant change to herself.

I don't really like this theory because there is no official canon in the ME universe. Liara's just as cold in a non-LI route as she is in a LI route. Yes, she melded at least once with Shepard in ME1 but that was in a strictly non-intimate fashion and I feel that if they'd take anything from the meld, especially something as jarring as a personality change, they'd have to open themselves a lot more. During the Prothean vision melds, it just seemed like Liara was peeking at Shepard's thoughts, not delving into who Shepard was as a person. In addition, Shiala also melded with Shepard and when you meet up with her she doesn't seem all that different. What I find most telling, however, is that personality changes are not noted anywhere in the game and something like that would make the act of melding much, much more...well, for lack of a better word, "special" than they've been made out to be.

It's an interesting idea, don't get me wrong, it's just that it has a lot of holes it doesn't explain.

I just thought about something...... the Shadow Broker doesn't want Liara dead. If he, she, it did the SB just would've told the Observer to kill Liara. Even Liara said that she would've never seen her coming if told to do so. So why does the SB want her alive? IDK but maybe the SB wants Liara to find him, her,it.
