Agreed that we don't need dialog from every squaddie. Just Garrus, Tali, Miranda would be sufficient.

I'll take Garrus and Tali on one of my run-throughs if they have unique dialogue. Otherwise, I don't generally take either of them on most missions. Garrus in particular seems to commit suicide A LOT if you don't micro-manage him in battle. I'll sometimes take Tali along if there's going to be geth, but usually she stays down in Engineering.

If Liara is going to be in your squad, it's likely you will have the choice of just taking one other ME2 squad mate.

Probably because your squaddies tend to follow you around on the battlefield unless you tell them otherwise.

If not, at least have a moment where Liara acknowledges Garrus and Tali. Garrus and Liara were the ones who came with me to Ilos and the Seige of the Citadel, so it was pretty weird for me seeing them get snubbed by Liara.



In fact, this is kind of a chronic problem of Mass Effect 2: team cohesion. Not once did I feel that Shepard was in any way "friends" with his squad mates (barring, of course, Garrus and Tali). They just sort of hung at his side whenever he was talking to important characters or even having a drink. It would have been great if Shepard could have shared a drink with Jacob on Omega or the Citadel.

Miri and Liara banter has to happen. If Tali and Garrus don't say anything, then it would't bug me at all but if Miri says nothing that is a huge oversight. Miri, a person who was involved in the get Shepard back operation, worked with Liara and even was there to calm her down and copmfort her. Says nothing to each other when you meet her on Illium so yes they need to say something.

I hope they have something to say to Liara though. I mean they were all part of the ME1 crew. It would just seem out of character if they all just stay mute with each other.
