Sorry, but until you actually give me some technical reasons, I won't see why you find your argument here so compelling. "It's an entirely new part of the game that needs coding in" is quite obvious, and doesn't establish why post-SM-only is impossible (or even very difficult). It has not really been established that "it involves the entire game" either, to be honest, though I'm not exactly sure what you're saying or getting at there.LordMarrick wrote...
u would think that woudent u but u still missing that is a entierly newpart of the game that needs coding in and that involves the entier game or it would be easer to mod when it comes down to code its easer to put it in and early stage of the game that tell it to only activate when so many diffrent requiermants are met
Many missions have preconditions, such as purchasing a star chart for their part of the galactic map. Until that is done, for the "entire game" you won't be able to go there. Yet it's a very simple operation.
Perhaps I'm simply not getting what you're saying, as you seem to think your argument is very powerful, and I imagine you have reasons for this that are unclear to me.

If we get another e-mail from the Illusive Man that kicks off this DLC, to me that means it can be done before the suicide mission because my main guy told him to **** off after the suicide mission.
TIM's kind of a stalker. He might take that to mean "We should see other people" instead of "I hope you catch an STD from a varren.":lol:

i also just dont beleave that it would be post SM because what if shep dies who would help liara then maybe joker but he is only the pilote it has to make sense and having it before would make more sense. think in ME3 they might have a new hero because shep can die and i dont think cerberas can bring him back again
I disagree, for story/plot related reasons helping Liara (as Shepard) once the SM is over makes the most sense, especially as Liara turns your request for help down flat when you ask the first time(s) during the build up to the SM in ME2. Now Shepard is "free" per se, Liara now has a clear chance to ask for his/her help rather than the other way around.
Interesting point, but again I think you will be forced to begin a whole new game with a new Shepard solely in ME3 if you only have a ME2 game save where Shepard dies - you have thought of playing ME2 through more than once to get more endings/different choices right? Mass Effect 3 is intended to be the conclusion to Shepard's story, and the Mass Effect trilogy as a whole.

You die in the suicide mission, it's game over and any postSM mission is not available to that character. Next!

Health - Difficulty - Balance - Upgrades - Scaling ...... they are intimately related and they always result in really weird immersion breaking aspects of any game. Nobody does it right.
The worst offenders in ME2 were:
1) Thermal clips
2) Your companions never die unless you do
3) You are an elite soldier and you enter a combat situation with your heavy weapon UNLOADED
4) You take 1000 shots with no effect, but only the very last on kills you.
5) You are an elite soldier, Spector or the prime Cerebus agent and you have to buy normal weapons. The only weapons you should ever have to buy are the ones you make yourself or are new tech
6) Cover behind a desk can stop a bazooka
7) The magic teleporting weapon lockers
Most of it comes down to covert and overt scaling and the fact that AI is pretty stupid in most games.
However ME2 is no worse than other games.
You forgot the Wolveriene factor, enemies dont die from a sinlge headshot on insanity.I'd understand when they have armor but bare health I pop the foolish human dead center in the 3rd eye and the have the arogance to countinue to live.And waist high cover my head sticks out and theres sticks out too and somehow theyre amune to headshots

So, congrats there LP. Sooooo, you in the credits as LP or what? (Wouldn't answer with "or What", Garrus is atop the building across the street with a 'Cain' pointer at your 'Beamer')Oh yeah, and to Javier too!! uhhh, the congrats that is, not the 'Cain'
I'm in there under my real name. I don't know if they'll leave a little note of "LPPrince" or anything. I doubt it highly.

Game logic. Same reason you can't jump down from a 2 foot embankment or accidentally fall off a bridge w/ no railing or (my personal fav) why a Geth can destroy the Hammerhead w/ a couple of bullets, but it can survive plowing into the side of a mountain at 80 miles an hour. One of the many reasons I love Fallout 3 is that it doesn't suffer as much from game logic. You can fall off a 10 story building and if you do so, you will die.

Let me show you how hard it would beLordMarrick wrote...
no it just takes about 5 mins to work out if u take into account of what we all ready no and take the time to think that to make it post SM they would have to add a file contaning codes for the entier game with event blokers so it can only activate at the end of the game and that would be to much coding for 1 DLCGibb_Garrus wrote...
LordMarrick wrote...
ok now its time for me to shoot down the post/pre SM topic
1 all the content peaces are strait into the game
2 TLOTSB will take place after the first encounter with liara
3 to make it post SM would be a major hassle in coding so get ur heads out of the clouds and start thinking it will be avalble ASAP after the mission that liara gives u
how the hell do you know any of that? Just seems like pesimistic speculation to me.
if( end_game == true)
{
Email.Send(Liara.LOSB);
.... stuff here like location, state of liara convo, etc
LOSB.run();
}
