The business practices are hardly underhanded. Did they promise anything about Liara when they sold you ME2? Did they, and then remove it in a sneaky fashion only to sell it to you later? No. They sold you a product, and now would like to sell you another. Feel free to either buy it or not. That's really your only right as a customer(PS... your not a customer until you actually buy it!), you should prehaps hold your critisms until you actually try it.
The files in ME2 are only there to allow the DLC to link to the game. They learned alot of things in how they did DLC in ME1, and probibly knew that if they only did a few DLC's then this would be the one they really wanted.
Yep, I'm pretty sure a few of the devs promised we could continue our romances in ME2 well before ME2 came out.
And, no, we could not do that in the game. And, yes, it does seem like they removed it on purpose to turn around and sell it back to me. Why else would Liara's reunion be so goddamned
awful?
You can say the files are only the game so they can link together, but that's ignoring my point. The files are THERE, and they're there before ME2 came out. So they knew this DLC was coming, and I'm damned sure they knew there would be romantic content, and by extension I'm damned sure that they withheld said content on purpose to exploit Liara fans and make themselves look good in the process.
It is my right as a consumer to point these things out. If BioWare wants to argue with me and tell me I'm wrong, I'll listen and offer a revisited judgment. I don't have to "buy it" in order to be able to comment. That whole notion is terribly irresponsible.
