Making a buck out of a terrible reunion is not the most elegant way to make a profit.

800 BW points should be enough for at least 10 hours gaming. There's only so much you can do in that time and the DLC also needs some content to satisfy the non-Liara fans. I wonder how much time is left for the LI.

I am probably one of the few who hopes that the DLC allows to break off Liara's relationship. Her new dark and edgy image does not really appeal to me. My Shepards are still scratching their heads. :P

Frankly what's disgusting is how you complain about peoples right to choose to spend THIER own money on whatever medium they enjoy.

That's not at all what I'm complaining about.

But go ahead and empower BioWare to do this again in future. Just don't be surprised when ME3 is a horrible game and they force you to buy DLC in order to make it decent, as it should be from the get-go.

Yeah, I get that BioWare is a business and that they only care about money. That doesn't mean I can't complain about underhanded business practices.

The business practices are hardly underhanded.  Did they promise anything about Liara when they sold you ME2?  Did they, and then remove it in a sneaky fashion only to sell it to you later?  No.  They sold you a product, and now would like to sell you another.  Feel free to either buy it or not.  That's really your only right as a customer(PS... your not a customer until you actually buy it!), you should prehaps hold your critisms until you actually try it.

The files in ME2 are only there to allow the DLC to link to the game.  They learned alot of things in how they did DLC in ME1, and probibly knew that if they only did a few DLC's then this would be the one they really wanted.

Is it just me or has Liara's facial texture gotten a boost? Looks better then the ME2 ingame close ups.

It's not just you, but I don't consider it a "boost" at all. She looks too different. I'm REALLY hoping it's a POV error, heh.

I wouldn't mind Mr. Priestly assuring us, if in fact that is the case.

I really like how she looks in that screenshot - a lot more life-like :wizard:

$10 for 10 hours of gaming?  No offense, but you're dreaming.

Now, My question is that, for those of us who couldn't import their ME1 file by playing the two games on different systems, or the loss of a memory card, will they still be able to pursue a relationship with Liara if the game ahas no evidence of a relationship from ME1?

I cannot believe you are criticising someone like this, when you yourself have said you will be buying the DLC.  If you really felt as strongly as you protest about this, you would not buy the DLC, even if it meant missing out on something that you consider to be a very important part of your ME experience.

On topics:  Good stuff - kick off a new ME2 character tonite, play up till 07/09, get DLC, DLC tides me over till Reach.....profit?

IF I recall they said that your romances would continue or you could choose to cheat and suffer the consiquences. I fail to see how this didn't occur.  While it may not live up to the expectations of some people it is what it is.  They didn't promise that ME2 would be the great dating sim that a few people seem to long for.

Probably. But it is 1/5th of the price of the game. 40 hours/5 makes 8.  So, yes, 10 is maybe too much.

maybe that was just because she''s been preoccupied / obsessed with the SB
the old liara might be back once she has finished the SB?

Bang on really.  They made this dlc - they've no doubt put hard work into it, so they have every right to sell their work for however much they want.  We can't act as if it's ours.  Gotta pay for it first.

No, they didn't hold it back to rip off the idiots who buy everything. They held it back to prey on people's sense of unfulfilment.

They created a gigantic hole in a player's satsifaction with Liara, and now they're exploiting that for ten bucks a pop.

You really are cynical. You have no idea on how the design process was handled, for all we know this may have been a part of the main game but was later forced into DLC because of time constraints and deadlines.

Yep, I'm pretty sure a few of the devs promised we could continue our romances in ME2 well before ME2 came out.

And, no, we could not do that in the game. And, yes, it does seem like they removed it on purpose to turn around and sell it back to me. Why else would Liara's reunion be so goddamned awful?

You can say the files are only the game so they can link together, but that's ignoring my point. The files are THERE, and they're there before ME2 came out. So they knew this DLC was coming, and I'm damned sure they knew there would be romantic content, and by extension I'm damned sure that they withheld said content on purpose to exploit Liara fans and make themselves look good in the process.

It is my right as a consumer to point these things out. If BioWare wants to argue with me and tell me I'm wrong, I'll listen and offer a revisited judgment. I don't have to "buy it" in order to be able to comment. That whole notion is terribly irresponsible.

your right it's not a dating sim and glad of it even though some people want it that way.......thats just "almost" what BW has turned Mass Effect into is a dating sim

I just want to be faithful to Liara and thats it nothin special

If that was the case then I'd hope BioWare would have done what was done with the enhanced version of The Witcher and offer it for free, as it was meant to be part of the main game.

That's not what happened, and I'm more than willing to bet that they did this all on purpose to make a profit. Sure, you can say it's their right as a business to exploit their fanbase to make a profit; that doesn't mean I can't complain about it.

And I'm really more of a realist.

If only Mass Effect 2 would be only 10 hours long. Then a DLC 1/5 of it's price would satisfy some of you with just 2 hours of content...

There was no way to get her behavior discussed in the game. The openening scene was horrible. Threatening clients? Come on. Maybe cool for a renegade Shepard (I am doing one right now - she might think it is funny), but my other Shepards don't match her personality anymore. The game did not allow to break up with her. If this DLC allows that and has some cool action then I am happy.
